I did some troubleshooting with an oscilloscope and have some interesting results.
Here is a summarized test matrix and results:
Run from wall (extension cord) --> waveform looks ok, breakers won't trip no matter what combination of loads is on
Run from inverter, low load (150W) -->...
@DIYrich I like the ability to isolate the inverter for service and keep 20A to the house, but it's not a strictly needed feature as I'll be the one living in the ADU.
I also agree with @1201 that couldn't you accomplish the same functionality with a transfer switch? I guess you're trading one...
Hi All -
I am well into the build of a tiny house on wheels in terms of structure, plumbing, and exterior finishes, but have not installed any electrical fixtures or electrical backend.
I have done a fair bit of modeling using NREL solar data at the proposed final resting place (Los Angeles)...
The question was aimed at trying to use the combo breakers. I have about 13 of them installed at $75 each so I don't want to give up on close to $1k of hardware, and also lose out on the AFCI protection on outlet/lighting circuits where they add safety
Hi All - bit of a unique situation here. I am building a tiny house at a "construction site" (warehouse) and I have the 18kPV installed and all the wiring before and after my panel is complete. I do not have solar or batteries installed, yet. This warehouse only has single phase 120 readily...
Hi All,
Unconventional "test" use case here for the EG4 18kPV.
I am building a tiny house adjacent to a warehouse (temporary build location) and have all my panel branch circuits wired into the panel, and am currently running both sides of the panel with the same single phase 120V circuit off...
