    Rural off grid Internet options

Different brand, but this is the solution that I use for internet. PoE LTE router/antenna mounted on the side of the house. It's literally pointed slightly upward into the woods and there's a hill between it and the tower. I get ~38 down and ~8 up. The provider is a small regional company. They...

    XW6848 charge rate limited

Breaker is 50a. 40a actual with built in derating. So that makes sense. Toaster oven is a Breville which specs out at 1800w but I think it only pulls that in pre heat mode.

    XW6848 charge rate limited

Interesting behavior with more house load. Before toaster oven: After toaster oven: Adding gen support: There are also two midnite classics providing some power to the battery which is why battery wattage is higher than the XW DC + the MPPT. Turning on the load (toaster), the...

    XW6848 charge rate limited

Temp usually 65-75. I'm just trying to figure out why bulk wattage is as low as it is. 140a and 48 nominal is 6720w which jives with the inverter being a 6800w inverter. But I only see ~5500w of charging max...which is probably fine since why run the inverter at it's max. But I'm trying to...

    XW6848 charge rate limited

That's absorb voltage. It was charging at ~54v at the time of the screen shots.

    XW6848 charge rate limited

Seem to be stuck at DC Power = ~5500 . Maybe that is all I should expect with derating. Specs say 140a at 40-64v, 48v nominal. 140*48=6720w. but I get ~5500 or ~80%

Anybody using the newly released Batrium Toolkit3?

Looks like a new toolkit with mobile apps and web interface. I haven't found any dependency info yet so not sure it's usable for older WM4s, etc. https://wiki.batrium.com/en/toolkit3 Anybody try it yet?

    XW6848 charge rate limited

The batrium shunt issue is likely https://secondlifestorage.com/index.php?threads/batrium-shunt-inaccurate-current-measurment.8482/ I don't recall it happening with the solar charging. It seems to be only when charging via the XW.

    XW6848 charge rate limited

Hi, I'm trying to figure out why my charge rate seems to be capped at ~7000w. It's a Kohler 12 res. The AC 2 breaker is at 50a. AC 1 at 60 (but I'm off grid). Setting Maximum Charge Rate from 75% to 85% makes no difference. I see ~28a on both A2 L1 and AC2 L2. ~90a at the BMS. I haven't...

Batrium SOC resets to 100% SOC

Just came off a long stretch of no sun so lots of 15%<->60% back and forth. At 100% post balancing, the Batrium reads 90%. All other battery monitors read 100%. I could not reset the Batrium SoC. It would go through the motions with the "sent to unit" message, but no reset. I had to reboot the...

    Schneider InsightHome bug?

Magic smoke. They end up in some weird state where one unit feeds the other in a cycle. For me, it was always when using the generator so probably same thing when on grid. IIRC seemed to be a race condition unsolvable by software. Here's what it sounds like I went through a bunch (like 6 or 7)...

SanTan Solar Used Categories and Brands Discussion

I have 20 Suntech 285 used from Santan. In use for a bit over 2.5 years. No defects, except they came with what appears to be paint overspray on the panels. Like small hard droplets across all the panels. Seems weird, but I can't think of what else it could be. I tried to wash some of it off...

    Santan solar deal

These are 69x40. My 285's are 77x39. I have 20 on two racks. Replacing would be ~34 sq feet less and 1700w (30%) more. Tempted..

Batrium SOC resets to 100% SOC

I've never tested whether intermittent connectivity would cause a fault. I don't use the Batrium shunt for anything because it's almost always wrong. It drifts especially if it doesn't see 100% for a while. I've found it can read at much as 10% high when SoC gets down to the ~20% area. I have a...
