Why bother charging supplemental from the grid at all? Does the inverter not just pull straight from grid if there is insufficient power left in the battery?

The old AC systems are terribly inefficient. I've got 2 small 2kw AC split systems, one on each end of the house. In this weather, the AC in the bedroom easily keeps the room frosty enough for sleeping and uses only about 600w continuously. The old ducted system used to use about 5kw and did a...

I think powering the aircon would be the biggest priority in this weather! Yes a transfer switch is on the eventual to do list. Currently if the grid goes down its only a few wires to swap over and ill be back up in 5min. Blackouts are very rare here though. Maybe once every few years. Yea huge...

It's very satisfying to see what effect good PV and a battery has! My bill was roughly $750 per quarter before PV, $300 per quarter with just PV and is now about $40 per quarter with PV and 45kwh of lifepo4 storage. (In QLD). Next step is to get an 8kw inverter and wire it up as pass through so...

Eve LF280K 6000cycle rated for solar at .5C 32cell build

I wouldn't worry about your cells being ruined at all. Especially if they only got down to 2.5v... These cells can handle abuse. One pack I made was discharged and then left for 6 months and found later with below 1v per cell. Mate brought them back to me, I charged, balanced and capacity tested...

Off-grid Solar / Battery monitoring and control freeware

This is great! Those 4 bms readouts all in one look awesome. I've been wanting to do the same for my 2x chargery and 2x JK BMS banks, all into one pi zero. Glad to see it can be done and thanks for doing the trial and error with the usb hubs! Crashing scripts can be fixed easy enough...

I've been running my inverter through the same breaker you have, with 50mm2 cable for almost a year now. Quite often seeing 125amp loads continuously for prolonged periods when cooking/baking etc. No heating issues at all. Whole thing stays perfectly room temperature.

Are we all getting GRADE B cells??

That's a shame. There's nothing wrong with grade B cells. Just wish the sellers were honest about it. Most people would still buy

    Varicore scratch bar code

If you bought cells for $20 each on aliexpress then you've probably fallen for one of the many scam sellers there. Let us know if you ever get any cells from them!

Are we all getting GRADE B cells??

Does the zke tester have separate voltage sense leads? Crocodile clips vs ring terminals shouldn't make too much of a difference if it does.

Are we all getting GRADE B cells??

@Substrate thanks for elaborating a bit further. Was a bit scary suddenly to hear an opinion that is someone so convinced that dendrites will destroy lfp cells in 2k cycles. I've not heard of this before in lfp cells, only the lithium ion type chemistries. Without more evidence to suggest lfp...

Thanks very useful. So scientific. Great evidence to back up your statement.

Are we all getting GRADE B cells??

Yep. Last lot of 16 I bought was $142 usd per cell delivered with duty paid too. I usually buy 16 or 32 at once. Have assembled 6 banks so far.

Are we all getting GRADE B cells??

Nope just speculation from what I've read and seen on videos. Everyone to their own. But from my perspective I'm very happy with both my grade A and grade B cells that I bought from Amy. A few Ah this way or that doesn't really matter given the size of these banks. These cells are performing...
