It came today. Amazing thing! apply voltage to any one pair of wires and a isolated identical voltage is at the other three. be fun to see how they do that.
I bought 4 of these for a 48 volt system (ebay). The tops can be unscrewed to get to the insides, picture attached. they are supposed to be multiple cylindrical cell battery. The display is a voltmeter that appears to be connected directly to the battery (before bms) and just estimates...
More tidbits of information on the JBD SP04S020 BMS.
I found at least on my version (120 amp) the single temperature displayed on the bluetooth app Home page switches between the highest of the two Thermistors .
The setup values seem to be Volatile. If you unplug the balance leads the limits...
I had what I thought was a problem when testing the low temp cutoff. It seems to be a odd "feature" of the controller that was throwing me off. I expected in the battery status display to see the charging switch go to OFF when temperature is out of range and I was verifying it with a small...
That looks like the wire that the telephone company uses to connect from a telephone pole to your house. Not made to carry much current but its very strong in tension.
I bought 2 new 25 AH 48V batteries off ebay and converted them to one 200 AH 12V The price seem good $660 for both inc shipping. The tops are just screwed on and had a empty space for 4 more cell. Each cell is rated at 80 watts and there are 32. I cut the extra off both batteries and glued...
I have a ZAMP PWM 30 amp with a 2 100 AH AGMs. Two parallel solar panels 180 watt Rich solar (19V MPP) and a 90 watt Zamp (18V MPP). I was planing on getting a 30 amp MPPT controller and I have a 200 AH LiFePo4 battery (max voltage 14.5) that will be replacing the AGMs.
Sorry I was confused. it appeared you were recommending grounding the neg. I did not know which direction the green line was meant to go, he must have changed his original post to your recommendation so it is now correct.
This change will not work. The charge current form the alternator needs to go through the shunt. The meter is for measuring the power going in and out of the deep cycle battery. The original grounding was correct.
I have a RV mounted solar system with a 180 watt and 90 watt 12v panels. I can't put them in series because of the wattage difference. Is it still advantage to use a MPPT Controller if so which one works best for low voltage (~16 V) inputs? I will be charging a 4 cell LIFePo4 battery
The DC to DC charger should replace the VSR. The 40 or 20 amp charger has a ignition input to turn it off when the engine is not running. They have a new 50 amp version that may have the engine running detection. This will only charge the AUX batteries from the chassis battery and not vice...
