    3D Printer services

Morning all, I read a thread awhile back (that I can't find now) where the DIYer used a 3D printer service to print some parts for his build. I get so distracted with all the great threads ... anyone ever use a 3D printer service that you'd recommend? Thanks! Adam PS I'm converting my...

    Advice Building an electric boat

Will follow this build. 108 Vdc, wow. Suppose this is necessary at this power consumption (& not having wires massing the boat down). I know you know this, be very careful at this DC voltage level. You may not be able to let go of a DC line at this level. I built a pulsating 600Vdc bug...

    Charger+inverter, instead of charger/inverter&isolation transformer?

If you want your own boat's AC power isolated, the Iso Transformer is the way to go. Correct there is no Galvanic effects, regardless if on shore power. But more pricey though. I'd be very hesitant to not connect the ground if you stuck with the charger route, to act like an Isolation...

    Charger+inverter, instead of charger/inverter&isolation transformer?

Shore Power (AC) -> Charger -> Battery Bank(s) -> Inverter -> AC Loads. When connected to Shore power, you would be incur more losses as you convert AC to DC then back to AC. Not sure what the losses are, but it's not zero. Regarding Galvanic effects: If the boat is plugged into shore...

    Design review please

I think it looks good. Fair amount of redundancy (emergency starting ...) & well thought out into the design. How are you monitoring? Victron is pretty good with this... might be in the schematics. I have no idea of the solar arrays, but for the CB spec those to 80% or your expected max...

grounding ac and dc system on a electric propulsion sailboat ?!

Check with the manufacture regarding grounding the electric motor. I'd probably just give them a call. There might be a ground lug on the motor. Good luck.
