I would suggest building a 12v (sub system) to run critical loads, in my home I run a 12v system to power:
1) internet modems, router, switches,, main computer, etc on two batteries in my office. (four panels)
2) 12v exterior dusk to dawn lighting , on one battery. (two panels)
and
3) my amature...
400 feet of underground feeder cable of 2AWG would cost >$3000.00 (I just purchased 130 feet for $1500.00 in June.) It will handle 120A.
I had to bring the grid to my 18K.
Low amperage of 400 to 500 volt PV strings would be <20A. 10 AWG handles this beautifully. And much less expensive!
Yes, this is what i was thinking as well, I could use this strategy from November through February and then go back to my ,more normal, voltage settings. By the end of February my shading issues should be mostly mitigated.
Thanks.
I am getting the results I had calculated.
Sept. 2 was a very cloudy, overcast day, while Sept. 3 was a very clear day .
Lower production days are because I was charged by 12:30 to 13:30 on those days.
Sept. 10th I did quite a bit of welding and the wife did three loads of laundry, which is...
My first EG4 18000PV died when I first switched on the load breaker. Also, the dongle NEVER worked!
Service was spectacular. Yes, I had to strap down to a pallet, but it is heavy.
My second EG4 18000PV has worked flawlessly!
This is my system (simplified).
It is 95 feet from my meter/Main panel to my garage, so I had to run a 2 AWG 3 conductor cable to the new disconnect on the side of my shop and to connect to the meter directly. It then feeds a new breaker box in the garage which supplies grid power to the...
Probation and repeal of were both Constitutional Adments,
Prohibition was the 18th Amendment to the Constitution while the 21st repealed Prohibition. Laws, yes, but much easier to remove a law than an Amendment.
I have a "mix" of EG4 LL batteries (six 5120 wH ea) and 'off brand' (eight 14336 wH ea) for a total of 145,408 wH. These are wired together using a Victron Lynx power in and distribution buss bar system. These batteries do not communicate with each other.
I set my EG4 18KPV to run on voltage...
First... what are you running that you need three 18kpv's?
I have:
2000 sq ft home
2000 sq ft detached garage (inverter lives in here)
500 sq ft shop which houses a water softener (must be protected from freezing)
I am running on only one.
And, I am running four mini-split heat pumps usually...
Strings A and B are combined in the 18PV to PV1
PV2 is the C string and PV3 is the D string.
The 40 panels are in a series of 10. So 10 * 4 is the 40 panels.
The panels are 370 Aptos bifacial. You can see the readout today.
I did take all of the solar off-line this morning inorder to do some...
