I got the MQTT data from Jakiper onto Raspberry Pi running mosquito, telegraf, influxdb, and grafana. Here is the first quick graph I made and will add more to it later. This shows part of absorb, then float . Tomorrow I will get the whole charge cycle showing . The cells still need more...
  • Post in thread: In Jakiper battery one cell keeps triggering ovp, i need troubleshooting list

The Jakiper BMS will keep balancing when one of the cells goes into OVP . You can get the software and tweak the settings if you want. As others have said , the passive balance current is very low. It can take a really long time to balance . If you want to try and manually balance it you can...
  • Post in thread: Monitoring Jakiper ( maybe SOK too?) server rack batteries via modbus to Esp8266 mqtt

I got the Raspberry Pi working . Part of the problem was that two of the wires in the DB9 connector from Jakiper supplied cable broke off. The wires inside the connector had been hot glued to plastic cover , and I guess the small amount of flexing on the metal DB9 connector was enough to break...

I like to monitor my solar system. I have all my solar data going by mqtt to raspberry pi . On the Pi I run Grafana program which allows me to make whatever kind of graphs I want . No reason not to have the battery data in the mix too . I do have shunts on my system - on the Midnite controllers...

  • Post in thread: Jakiper ( and SOK ?) 48v batteries with Pace bms will balance when not charging

I have my Jakiper JK48v100 ( non pro model) on the bench and tested out the Pace bms for balancing. Andy from Off Grid Garage also recently made a video about this bms. At first I thought it only balances when charging which seemed kind useless for unbalanced cells since the passive bypass is...

Here is the transition this morning to absorb voltage where you can see the cell voltages diverge. I have been trying to monitor Jakiper server rack battery model JK48V100 via RS-485. The RS-485A port is programmable using Jakiper software. You can set it up to work with certain inverters using the Pbms Tools software that Jakiper provides . You need to connect to the RS-232 jack to use the...

  • Post in thread: Doubt about lifepo4 and float .

Basically - charge to 55.2 volts will get your LiFePo4 cells 99 % full and will stay away from the critical top voltage limit. You may need 15 to 45 minutes of absorb time at that voltage but depends on various factors. But some bms need higher voltage to do the balancing. I recommend not...

If your bms has a console port and uses pylontech protocol - check out this project which is set up to report to home assistant . It will work with either esp32 or raspberry pi. https://github.com/ClassicDIY/PylonToMQTT/wiki
  • Post in thread: Monitoring Jakiper ( maybe SOK too?) server rack batteries via modbus to Esp8266 mqtt

I had some problems with the Raspberry Pi also - Graham is working on it . Not sure when you downloaded that , but keep an eye on the github pages since Graham has been working on the fix. I did get a little bit further along in that my pi did communicate with the battery before I got errors...
  • Post in thread: Kilovault HLX Canbus

I have a JKBMS on a battery and another for a battery that I am going to build. But if you look on github there are plenty of projects there to interface them . Some use their bluetooth connection or rs485 connection. Here is one but there are others too https://github.com/syssi/esphome-jk-bms
  • Post in thread: Detailed look at cell imbalances using monitoring software for Jakiper / SOK 48v server rack

I don't think it has a setting for balancing after charge stops. When I first got the batteries I watched the Jakiper provided software closely. It has an indicator of when each cell is balancing ( we haven't been able to find a report for that for software I use). So yes the balancing only...

Wait on trying the Raspberry Pi - might be some issue with it. I will let you know if I get it going here first.
  • Post in thread: Detailed look at cell imbalances using monitoring software for Jakiper / SOK 48v server rack

RCinFLA Thanks again for the info. I read and understand most of what you showed above. I think I will redo my battery interconnects mainly so I can remove one battery at a time if I want to try to individually balance the cells ( need to open it up). Besides the all the poor climate control...
  • Post in thread: BMS For Closed Loop Communication W/ EG4 18kPV Inverter

I also have Gobel battery with that bms. I had it connected closed loop to EG4 6000XP using battery setting 2 which I had seen other people say they used. It seemed like it worked for awhile but then I got some error where it locked out charging . Now I will have to see if the battery settings...
  • Post in thread: Charge Controllers, help with math ?‍♂️

Not sure your climate - you don't often get full rated output from PV . In winter in the cold north in below freezing weather I can get full rating on clear low humidity days with snow reflection helping . So your 80 amp controller with potential 83 amps pv would be fine . Good charge...
  • Post in thread: Eel V6 48v diy battery box (dc circuit and integrated t-class fuse)

I just finished building Eel V6 box with MB31 cells. There are a few build differences from V5 but no build guide. I am making a video with my build details. I just turned it on and what did I find ? The same issue I had with two V5 boxes I put together this summer that had cells 4 and 5 not...
  • Post in thread: Kilovault HLX Canbus

Did you ever make any progress with this ? I don't know canbus. But the way I would approach it is that if Kilovault is able to canbus to inverters, then look for published data from those inverters . Many seem to use Pylontech communications Here is something that may hopefully be of help to...
