Per other suggestions, Growatt's MIN 5000TL-XH inverter is reliable, low-cost hybrid grid-tie version of your grid-tie inverter. Swap out this inverter and connect to the compatible ARO 9.9kWh battery and Growatt's 50A ATS which will feed a critical load sub-panel during power outage.
I note that Deye (Chinese supplier to EG4, including EG4's new ACDC HVAC unit) also makes a PV-powered ACDC water tank heater (link https://www.deyeinverter.com/product/solar-air-conditioner/hybrid-acdc-solar-air-water-heater.html) It would be nice if EG4 imported that product too.
I've seen YouTube DIY'ers putting semi-flex PV (Sunpower etc) onto a Coroplast seperator layer then onto RV/trailer roof, both sides adhesively bonded. What is real-world experience with this penetration-free solution for vehicle rooftop PV?
Growatt-Pylontech inverter-battery pairing initially only worked when SPF setting #5 was set to AGM, which is suboptimal for long-term operation. Vendor Microgreen Solar (Canada) explained that in order to get inverter to communicate with battery: (1) under SPF setting #5, set to LI, which jumps...
After choosing a Growatt SPF12000T-MPV inverter (a very nice unit) and having my electrician grid-tie it (3-wire connection to AC IN) to charge a 48V AGM battery bank, the local Ontario inspector (an off-grid solar newbie) in Ontario disallowed the system, stating there is no documentation/user...
The intertwining of Chinese OEM's and re-branded manufacturers is complex, but in this instance I believe DEYE and Megarevo are head-to-head competitors. Megarevo has no doubt copied DEYE features/format, as Shenzhen/Chinese companies are very good at this. But DEYE is normally very respectful...
What's the SOC (voltage level) of your batteries? SPF AC charger will only begin charging when the battery voltage falls below your setting 12 (48V). Once started, battery will charge from genset until the moment voltage level in setting 13 (52V) is achieved. If you start your generator when the...
For offgrid process and components, you might give folks at Microgreen (Markham ON) a call. They recently did a 30kW offgrid system (using 6 Growatt SPF5000-US) and helped educate the ESA inspector. If you a going grid-tie hybrid >10kW system, the process in Ontario means dealing with the local...
If you standardize your tiny home system on 120Vac, stick with Growatt all-in-one but change your model from SPF6000T-DVM to SPF3000TL-LVM . . it charges battery using 120V shore power
Here's a smartphone screenshot of Growatt's SHINE cloud monitoring's Battery Page for SPF inverter, showing AXE state of charge, charging/discharging, SOC history etc)
Growatt offgrid systems (all connected components) are monitored via their Shine cloud server (connection using optional WiFi dongle). Each AXE battery info is logged . level, charge, discharge, etc . . . using a wired CAN comms cable from AXE(s) to the inverter, then to the cloud/your...
