Waste dollars...buy cheap and have issues IMO.
Think and plan a little longer before deciding on products.
You need to put the hours in and go through this whole forum - about a weeks reading.
YouTube reviews of gear you are looking for - healthy amount of skepticism...
This is a learning...
I got 8 Mitsubishi Zen-series minisplits around the house, usually only use 2 at a time.
Extremely silent with brilliant COP values and low energy use.
Normally my office f.ex. only uses 150-300 watts @ 230V.
Can also be had in silver or black or the standard white.
Highly recommended.
Ich bin ein Wunderkind.

Always found it easy to grasp new areas.
Retired (ish).
Lately solar...^^
Bought them from a retailer here in Spain.
Very happy. Been fault free for over a year now.
Got them installed last year 01. Feb. 23
HUGE upgrade from my earlier Growatts.
Those were a class A piece of crap.
The Deyes (Sol Ark) feels like an Abrams M1 tank in comparison.
Completely different...
As per this threads title I had a sobering thought looking at my stats this afternoon...
In the summer my production normally goes through the roof and I can't ever use all of my potential production.
Even with minisplits running cooling all the time. F.ex today I've used 36kwh (34 celcius)...
Reminds me of PC support back in the day with customers on the phone:
"What PC do you have?"
"ummm...it's white"
And when I started asking questions like "Have you looked in the manual?" you could hear fumbling with the phone and the sound of cellofane tearing off in the background...
JK. I got 2 myself. Btw. there is a crapton of similar threads like this if you use the search on top of these pages.
I would never buy a Daly looking at all their issues.
Andy often creates "issues" just to make "interesting" videos.
Have tried to post comments under his videos that points out issues/errors but no replies and he just keep on trucking.
I no longer consider him serious, just watch his videos some times for the light entertainment value.
When it...
OVP at 3.64 is too much. This stuff is not THAT precise...
I got mine (JK) at 3.60V.
And the balancer on 2A from 3.3V.
Remember to first select standard values for LIFEPO4 before starting to change stuff.
And yeah, you cooked those cells.
I only charge at 3.55V per cell and float at 3.45V after...
You are not grounding the DC itself (which you never should), you are grounding the support rails and framing of the panels which has nothing to do with DC.
Todays work done. Finished the project. Did all battery cabling.
Installed and cabled against the 2 Victron busbars.
Everything is fused with the 58V 250A Mega fuses listed earlier.
All contact surfaces, nuts, washers etc. has been cleaned with alcohol.
All cable lugs are ofc. heatshrinked...
My hobbies include managing a sizeable property with all its upkeep inc. water, electrical etc.
In addition to interest in cars, built my own 73m2 Home Cinema, building amplifiers, Computers/networks as both work and hobby, field competitions with handguns, woodworking and everything else...
Noone is going to bother about it.
There are normally no visible labels on the outside of the frame on a panel.
How is anyone going to check? Crawl up on the roof and put his head under the panels with a torchlight?
Overthinking it ^^.
But again...WHY?
As Steve mentions the power use is MINIMAL.
And if you consider a BT module as a security risk with its max 5-10m range...well, there are other stuff to worry about.
Read up on your TimeOfUse table. That regulates the discharge and use of your batteries.
There are no SBU or similar setting on the Deyes.
I understand what you mean but I think it would be helpful for you to post photos of all your setup screens on the inverter.
I can help you from there.
Now...
I got 3 of these.
The PS inside is auto sensing from 90-264V.
No problem running 120V. I run mine with 230V.
If you are going to change the plug (which I did) follow the colors:
Brown - Live
Blue - Neutral
Yellow&green - Earth.
Connect your plug accordingly.
Progress today. Removed the batteries. Modded the floor plate a little and got the 2x4 rack situated.
Moved the 4 pcs. of 90kg (each) batteries in it. That was a BEAR of a job. Doesn't help that i is not much space around the rack as it sits in a corner. But, got it sorted in the end.
You should get your own well ^^ :D
One important step towards being independent of crappy Gov infrastructure...
Only thing I pay for atm. is my trash fee.
Cool story: bought an extra Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse kit 15 yrs ago for use in my home cinema, figured the first one would last 4-5 yrs...I have still not unpacked it as the first kit are still rocking...
So buying spares...might be useless unless you like sleeping better at night. ^^
Remember that Andy is VERY Victron focused to get all his gripes fixed.
Something that not all customers care about...
I'm very happy with older version JKs with only voltage control.
No issues whatsoever.
I would be more concerned about the wires and lights hanging above your head on that patio.
If we are going in that direction you should throw away any cellphone in the family etc.
Do you see the point I am trying to make?
I wish you all the best in your solar journey.
I recommend that you get enough batteries for your needs.
Running it without any batteries will create issues.
Esp. in periods without grid or during loadshedding.
So since my first installation in spring of 2022 with 3 pcs. Growatt SPF-5000 ES and premade batteries with 35mm2 DC cables the system has been enlarged in several steps. This is a 3-phase setup.
Firstly as the Growatts (5kw each) started taking each other out with fires and literal explosions...
This thread is dangerous...I am getting a itch to increase my battery bank...MOAR LifePO4 pur favorrr...
Prices has gone up the last year though...was cheaper a year ago.
Buying a 15S2P (prebuilt) with 200ah is around 4000,- Euros atm.
Hoping to get lower with DIY myself.
Foam plates do not breathe and will create moisture.
Rockwool does the opposite.
But still, in winter conditions I would look up how to configure your roof properly in regards to layers.
There is a ton of info on this on the internet / YouTube.
I am from Norway and enjoyed similar winter...
@mib. This ^^. So much this.
One big factor for me is to be independent of the grid companies and their often crappy grid.
In Spain (around me atleast) we have a very up and down grid with a lot of badly designed and maintained setups.
Instead of enduring all the small seconds drops to hours...
One other thing: The solar industrys reliance on mobile phones.
With all the CRAP apps everyone is installing on their phones.
TikTok anyone? (Side story: the Norwegian Defence minister (female) had TikTok on her phone while it were on a prohibited list. Stupid fucking cow.)
I hate electronics...
First "Aha" experience I had: learned to properly calculate the number of panels in a string.
Luckily not under cold conditions and fixed it promptly afterwards.
Lesson 2: brass is not a good material for busbars, even in small units...
