Did any one have any luck repurposing these batteries.?
I have been given 2 x 2.5Kw Sonnen batteries which I have added to my Growatt battery system. Problem is they don't stay on!
My Growatt batteries are connected to Growatt inverters and Communicate perfectly. The Sonnen Batteries have all...
Hi All,
Have an existing system that functions well with 3.5KW solar array, 5KW growatt inverter (SPF5000ES) and 5KW Lifepo4 Batteries.
Would like to add more Solar Panels (another 3KW) but the current array is on a roof that has no space left (North facing), so will need to install a new...
Yes, both inverters need ac input with earth and both inputs should have seperate breakers.
There are 2 cables for each inverter for parallel setup. 1 is data communication and the other (red and black) is named current sharing but due to their small wire gauge they can not share much current...
The diagram for connection is shown in the back of the instruction leaflet. It’s quite straight forward. The connection cables come with both units, 1 set in each box and both are needed. If you don’t have the instructions you need it for the rest of the setup anyway. It’s downloadable from...
Reply I got from growatt which i followed:
1. I believe both neutral are connected before each individual breakers.
2. Yes you can start them up withouth AC in connection.
Hi All,
Have been running 1 Growatt SPF 5000 SE off 5400W of panels now for over 5 months. Have decided to expand my system to 2 inverters in parallel and have some questions that I can't find answers to.
New system:
2 x Growatt SPF 5000 SE both powering same loads using parallel kits, 16 x...
I have 13 set to 54v and 12 set to 50v. Both these settings at irrelevant for me. My system is sufficient for my power usage so while I am wired to Utility power the breaker is switched of. I have only used utility once to recharge my battery when I accidentally left my freezer open over night...
No Problem.
Do I understand you correctly.. You have removed your BMS? and operating without it?
I think you should set your "20" float voltage at least 1v lower than your "19" charge voltage. Otherwise you risk micro cycling your batteries which is not good for them..
If you want to charge...
The Growatt SPF 5000ES will not communicate with the Daly BMS.
I have my Growatt Battery Type (05) set as "US2" Then use the settings in 19,20 and 21 to regulate the battery.
The most important settings are 19 and 20.
I ended up buying 16 x Eve 230Ah batteries with 250Amp BMS. (Screen shots...
You are correct. My inverter tops out at 18Amp. Voltage floats around 190-200Vdc.
This is why the highest Watts I have seen is about 3500-3600W (200x18). Like I said before, this won't be a problem for me when I install a second inverter, but this is about 2 months away while I am building...
