  • Post in thread: Figuring out my monthly usage?

Thanks all. That emporia looks like they got a 99 dollar jobber that just reads the main, as I don't need to break it down per breaker. Looks simple easy and has some good reviews. I will most likely go with that, assuming I like what I read. Thanks for the input!

  • Post in thread: New NHX 12 killowatt

So, I went ahead and ordered the NHX 12kw from Watts247. Should be here in a few days, I can probably do an unboxing video, but it will take me a bit to get it all set up, as I got a few things ahead of it and I move and work slowly.
  • Post in thread: New NHX 12 killowatt

Ahh I came back to revisit this, and I must have some how disabled updates, you guys all move faster than me. I have had 5 back surgeries and have chronic pain, nerve damage etc, I get about 30 minutes done a week if I am doing well that week. I finally getting some holes dug for the container...
  • Post in thread: Yet another grounding question - Off grid only double shipping container setup panels on roof

So to put what I think is way I would do it, and you guys can tell me what I get wrong. I get grounding lugs on all panels, run copper grounding conductor from all 18 panels on container 2, through the conduit over to container 1, and earth ground the panels. Same for panels on container 1...
  • Post in thread: New NHX 12 killowatt

I hear ya. I am a bit younger at 44 this year. But I have had 5 back surgeries, multiple on the knee. I get about half an hour of work a week if I am lucky, if its cold maybe less. I do still need to track down the spds and fuses, I haven't picked any of that up yet. Got 8 holes to dig, I have...

I can't offer any opinions on what's enough. • Post in thread: New NHX 12 killowatt

Ruixu sent me this bus bar x2. I dont see it on their website though. They are big and beefy. I am sure it can handle the 4 batteries no issue, and I want room to expand to 6. Even with shipping my 2nd set of batteries I got 2 for the price of one ruixu.
  • Post in thread: Mini split for "Refercan" 40' shipping container

I dunno if you got the answers you needed or moved on. But I live in a 40 ft reefer can, and I cool and heat it with a 9000btu 240v minisplit that draws like 15 amps at least in the manual. With a person and 2 cats, and fish, and a chihuahua, I have some insight. Humidiy, I picked up a 99...
  • Post in thread: Advantage of doing 2x 6000xp instead of 1x 12000xp?

Well, a simple looking at their spec sheet shows 6000xp max continuous output current 37.5 so this times 2 is greater than the 50 amps the 12000xp*(I was wrong, and TM corrected below, it's 25 amps output, so same 50 amps) can do. But then the 12000xp can handle more total solar or up to 28kw...

Good info. Mind posting what ferrules you used? I know you said not to, but I had planned on doing it, but they were straight ferrules like this, with a hex crimper. Or square. Your system size and equipment is very similar to what I am planning to do. I have my panels already, but will be ordering batteries soon. I am trying to decide if I wait for the 12000xp or Gridboss 21, or order the NHX 12kw on watts247 page. The 10kw unit seemed to be quite the workhorse, and...

I live in an insulated connex high cube. Why not install a mini split? I also have some midea u shapes for the mobile, I am slowly building my solar, everything I run so far is grid. Anyway, just a thought. I have a9k btu 220v midea mini split and it keeps me at 75 right above my pc station...
  • Post in thread: Sungold 11.4kw "TheOne" (almost) SGN11.4KHB-48

  • Post in thread: Mini split for "Refercan" 40' shipping container

Yep. But the net gain is lower humidity and temp where I want it. If I turn on a light, it also adds heat that the a/c has to remove. But then I can see. If I turn on my air fryer, it adds heat that my a/c has to remove, but then I can cook.
  • Post in thread: EG4 new products at RE+

Right, I think, I got that too, that it can take up to 24kw of solar, but uses 21kw. So 21 is the usable amount of solar, as you can oversize a bit.
  • Post in thread: New NHX 12 killowatt

I have received the unit. Still, I have a multitude of things to get done before I can even get it mounted. Like, I probably won't even have my panels up until end of year, sometime next year. I have been buying parts as I save for them. Maybe I should start a full build thread in one of the...

  • Post in thread: New NHX 12 killowatt

Well if you got 2 inverters, you would want bus bar that can do 600 amps. Is what I spitball mathed it. That's based on inverter I think pulling max or charging at max charging capacity. Fits in, with them having built in 300 amp surge protection. Batteries don't push their power, the inverter...

  • Post in thread: Yet another grounding question - Off grid only double shipping container setup panels on roof

Yeah, I just watched some youtube video about japan and their outlets, and how they have a full house gfci breaker basically at the panel, and it takes care of the same thing as us running a ground to every outlet. But they are transitioning to US style according to the video.

  • Post in thread: Mini split for "Refercan" 40' shipping container

Good to know. However, I think running this dehumidifier at 125 watts probably consumes less power than running a smaller a/c longer to take longer to cool so it can dry the air more. I haven't tested it, that's just what my brain tells me.
