    Cell level monitoring

That will tell me the voltage of each of the 4 parralled banks?

    Cell level monitoring

I guess it will have to be, or will the other cells hold it up?

    Cell level monitoring

I have 28 cells connected 4 in series, 7 in parallel. I would like to monitor individual cell voltages and trigger a relay or alarm or something should any one go out of range. What are my options please?

    Why is my voltage dropping

I'm not sure everyone's telling me it can't be done. Whether it's wise to do it with differng chemistries is another matter though. :)

    Why is my voltage dropping

Yours is set at 15.6 V yes, that is a lot higher than my 14.4V. What was it before you changed it please?

    Why is my voltage dropping

I have copied outback tech support into this discussion, hopefully they will have a look.

    Why is my voltage dropping

That's what I thought, and I totally get the charge profile for one will be at the detriment of the other. I an willing to sacrifice some life from the LA's, but that does not explain why the controllers are acting as they are. Thanks for the input

    Why is my voltage dropping

Update. Outback are telling me that two different types of battery chemistries cant'be used in a single setup, so perhaps therein lies the problem.

    Why is my voltage dropping

Yeah, i'm beginning to suspect it is a bug in the system, and not my settings, setup, state of the sun, connections etc. I am in contact with outback to see what they can suggest, though I am not holding out much hope, as I believe they are actually Tracer controllers, not outback. The...

    Why is my voltage dropping

Sorry, I have not explained this very well. I outlined the system, but it was in a different thread. This one has drifted quite a bit, as my initial question was really about the solar charge controllers and the panels. There is a motorised switch that sits between LA and Lithium batteries...

    Why is my voltage dropping

The LA rarely get used. As the cells are in parallel, albeit separated by a switch, they stay above 12.8V, whilst the lithium do the heavy lifting. Eventually I hope to get rid of the LA batteries and have a dc to dc converter as you suggest, and a mains charger that can cope with lithium...

    Why is my voltage dropping

    Which bit?

    Why is my voltage dropping

No, I haven't tried that. All my chargers and loads are connected to the LA bank. I have an engine driven alternator that I haven't as yet configured for the lithium cells. The lithium and LA bank can be isolated from each other with a switch. The LA bank gets a weekly charge from a mains...

    Why is my voltage dropping

A huge thanks to you sir, its finally beginning to make sense. So, if i set a higher Boost (absorbtion) voltage, I can set the duration lower, say 10 minutes. If I set the boost voltage lower, then the duration needs to be longer. For maximum cell life I was going for the lower option, but due...

    Why is my voltage dropping

One shot is from the meter connected to the outback, one from the app connected to the wifi controller, and the chinese one which is the lithium BMS. So, the meter is correct, the wifi module and app is a third part thing I guess , and the BMS info a bit of a red herring, but relevant.
