Victron Smart Battery Protect to Inverter?

Thanks for this! I was just getting online to see if I could find a manual of some sort for the Giandel inverter. Looks like my options just got sliced down to 1, get an inverter that has programmable settings. The Schneider we use for our home does, and I know Victron, and I believe...

Victron Smart Battery Protect to Inverter?

This! I have the manual but I do not see where it indicates if/how this is done. None of the schematics show this. I see a remote switching option to turn the SBP on and off. The other pins seem to be for manual programming. Could you point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Victron Smart Battery Protect to Inverter?

Thank you for your reply. You are right, I guess I knew hooking it directly to the inverter is not a proper use. Thanks for the wiring diagrams, but I have no DC loads so this will not solve my issue. We are totally off-grid and I use this small system to run my shop 120v needs. We do not run...

Victron Smart Battery Protect to Inverter?

I am trying to figure out how to use the Victron 12/24-220 SBP with my Giandel 2000/4000 PSW inverter that runs my off-grid shop. Before the flames, I know it says, "Do not hook directly to a device with capacitors, such as an inverter." That said, I saw in one of Will's videos him doing this...

    Chins Sketchy.... is it Chins?

Thanks for the reply. I figured out that buying direct was safe, but went through Amazon. But I do appreciate the 3% off you gave me through Amazon. The batteries are installed and working well!

    Chins Sketchy.... is it Chins?

I used the contact form on the Chins site and was emailed back very quickly, a good sign. The email address is from: chins_service@163.com. Is this correct? The reason I ask is that I contacted them as they 9ffered a 10% discount on their website if 8 gave them my email, so I did. Never...

    Confused wiring a Magnum MS4024pae

I wired through L1 only on the input side. My Schneider is the same way. The Magnum also cautions to turn the charge rate down to 50% to avoid overheating the transformer due to the imbalance running loads off L1 & L2 and charging batteries.... this was done. Thanks again!

    Confused wiring a Magnum MS4024pae

Thank you forvthe reply! Yeah I was looking at the manual for the mmp epanel, once I looked at the correct manual it was obvious. Thanks again!

    Confused wiring a Magnum MS4024pae

Trying to help a friend wire the off-grid solar for his cabin. Have been pouring through the manuals but can't find the answers I seek. As stated he is using an MS4024 inverter coupled with an MMP 250-60s e-panel. His generator only outputs 120vac. As I look at the wiring diagrams for the...

    Parallel rather than Series?

Talked to my neighbor today and he has decided to go with a bigger charge controller. I'm glad to hear this! I think he is going with a 60 or 80 amp SCC as he really wants to build a good sized system that will really meet his needs instead of sitting in the dark... or just turning on 1 light...

    Parallel rather than Series?

HRTKD.... no, that was one of the first things I changed. Ring terminals.

    Parallel rather than Series?

Well there you go! "....Three panels in parallel are 720 W STC, maybe 620W PTC, would deliver 50A into a battery..." this likely explains why he burned out a 40amp fuse. Thanks. Well, I'll talk with him and let him know that the only way to use all 3 is to aim them in different directions...

    Parallel rather than Series?

Hedges, Jason.... thanks! These panels are mounted on the roof of a medium sized well house... 4 panels max across the roof. It is south facing, in a forest. Just not sure how easy it would be to aim them different directions. I guess I'm not seeing 30 amps in parallel happening. Even using...

    Parallel rather than Series?

Chris... thanks, and likely good advice. He really needs a bit more power to get his batteries topped up each day.... hoping there is a way to use that 3rd panel! Yes this SCC will allow 1100w @ 24v. However my neighbor already has a 2000/4000watt, 12v inverter so he is pretty well stuck with...

    Parallel rather than Series?

Jason, yes the area is subject to cold weather.... we are at 9,500' in southern Colorado. Aware of spiking voltages in very cold temps, but if using the 3 x 240watt panels wired in parallel he would see voltage at only 1/3 of the 100v the SCC is capable of handling (vmp 29.9) and amps at...
