Thanks for the info,
Settings for AC Input Control, and others were set using a MK3-USB and my phone through Victron Connect.
Yes I'll turn the Multiplus battery monitor off, that was just an experiment.
Wondered about the GX requirement, I likely won't get one given the cost of a Cerbo GX...
I have a BMV-712 and Victron Multiplus 12/3000/120-50 120V that are networked together using VE Networking. I'm trying to implement AC Input Control to get battery bank SOC to stay lower than 100%.
I've set up AC Input control and it honors parameters on Load Condition, but doesn't start...
I have two large panels with an ISC of 10.23a each (2x in parallel = 20.46a) and on the sticker the max fuse rating is 20a.
They have 12ga leads, would you recommend a 20a fuse on each panel?
Thanks for the tip on the Y cable, that will be easier.
Can you expand on why a fuse isn't needed for two panels but would be for three?
With a 32a DC breaker on the input side to the SCC (due to the 8ga wire), I'm concerned about 12ga wires on the roof having issues before the breaker trips.
Just finished mounting a pair of 395w panels to the roof of my RV, and want to make sure I get the wiring correct to the SCC.
Panels will be wired in parallel to a Victron 100/50 SCC.
49.5 Voc
41.4 Vmp
10.23 Isc
9.55 Imp
Max Series Fuse 20A
Planning on using wire sizes below.
Panels have 5ft...
I've got space for 4x of the 250w, or easier space for 2x of the 398w.
The 100/50 SCC shows support for up to 700w so I'd either be 300w or 100w overpaneled, is 300w too much?
5th wheel with 300ah 12v LiFeP04, Multiplus 3K, BMV-712, Orion 12/12-18 and I want to add some solar.
Planning on a Victron 100/50 SCC and 2-4 used panels around 800-1000w total, and concerned about getting the VOC too high but 150/70 or 85a models are nearly double the price.
Used panels...
It's what's in surge protectors to absorb the hit during a surge.
The Hughes Power Watchdog 30a and 50a models have replaceable surge modules, so you don't have to throw the unit away after it protects your RV from a surge event.
I used this schematic which uses a manual switch to bridge L1/L2 when on 30/15a shore power, generator (power assist) or off grid entirely.
This lets the Inverter power both sides of a 50a split phase AC box, and it works great.
In my case the form factor of the older Victron Multiplus was much...
With my Multiplus 3000 float set at 13.6v I see voltage is sometimes at 13.7v or slightly above.
Is there an issue with a bit of draw via RV lights etc once the battery is in float?
I do see that but it doesn't last long before I see power going back in.
Pre-order means they are awaiting stock, these days the arrival could be hard to predict but I wouldn't worry about the safety of your funds.
On the slow response they are likely just very busy.
I've looked at new 200w panels and they are about $1 per watt or slightly more.
The 260w used panels are .25 per watt, and at 75-80% output would be roughly the same as 4x 200w panels.
I have space for 4 panels regardless without putting them in places I really don't want to due to shading or...
