I'm watching 3 systems. The one turned on last December does not have optimizers and has never triggered an arc fault. The new one on my condo triggered an arc fault yesterday. My neighbor's hasn't triggered since getting PTO. All 3 systems are on firmware 7.2.2.2
TIGO claims the optimizers are...
Initially I was interested in this battery, but the weight deterred me. I've been looking for lower cost and UL9540. I found a low cost option in Canada and it was UL9540A tested, but not UL9540 listed with Sol-Ark. Now I'm focused on Pytes. My state NH, requires UL9540.
I went through the same thing in 2022. My installer used a Siemens breaker; something they had been doing for more than 10 years. Some of the older engineers at Eversource retired. The younger engineers had a different interpretation of the PUC rules. The installer was forced to replace the...
2.4 Integrating a Generator
Generators Smaller than 19.2kW → On “GEN” Terminal
1. Supports 120/240V generators only.
2. Connect the generator output to the “GEN” input terminal of the Sol-Ark. You must select the
correct grid type before connecting the generator.
3. A THD (Total Harmonic...
So, the Sol-Ark disconnects from the generator, but leaves the generator running OR it charges the battery to 95% before connecting to the grid. Generator running after the grid returns is certainly undesirable.
I agree with your point. Off grid TOU should be separated from On grid. Maybe this...
You need a transfer signal that occurs upon loss of grid power. The Sol-Ark Gen Start Relay isn't going to do that. If the transfer switch is wired correctly, there is no way the load terminals of the Sol-Ark would connect to the grid.
Your SLD doesn't show where the transfer signal comes from...
I live on a road off 125. All the Consolidated poles are short and redundant. They're planted right next to the Eversource poles. Must be different elsewhere.
That's a position I haven't heard on this forum. Most say that Deye is the origin of these inverter, not SunSynk. Can you supply something that supports your statement.
Now I see that turning off TOU just moved the phantom 200 watt load from the battery to the grid. I submitted a support ticket request this morning.
It is possible to get an exemption to the 3 foot spacing requirement with UL9540A testing. The SS manual shows much less than 3 foot spacing. It must be their intention to achieve this exemption.
Hmmm. Comms not working. I can't get any BMS data in PowerView. There's a triangle with ! below the battery icon. I found a post suggesting rebooting the screen by pressing and holding escape would reset Comms. Didn't work. Comms must have been working initially because beeping due to...
You should resubmit your interconnect application. Anymore than 15 KWAC would be a violation of your interconnect agreement. I'm an Eversource NH customer.
So, tech support tells me they are sending me a new dongle while at the same time telling me that
I've never heard of this. Sol-Ark needs to revise the manual.
20.4 is not 20.0, but it is 20. I know my AHJ hates solar, but he hates it so much that he doesn't even do a proper inspection. For the inverter and PV, he only looked at the disconnect and RSD switch.
Do you know if the external CTs are installed? They are required for grid peak shaving. Also, 12,000 watts for grid peak shaving seems rather high if your goal is to use as little grid as possible.
I'm having two 15K installed in July. I want these optimizers. Fingers crossed. My installer emailed me yesterday. They contacted Sol-Ark, but were not given an availability date.
Are you aware of the 120 rule? Most 200 Amp main panels have 200 Amp bus bars that limit the backfeed breaker to 40 Amp. That's 7680 watts. The Sol-Ark 15K would be overkill. And yes, connect to the Sol-Ark grid terminals, not load terminals.
Limited to Load + Grid Sell: This mode will NOT limit solar production. The inverter delivers power to the “LOAD” terminal (essential
loads panel) + unlimited power to the “GRID” terminal (main service panel AND grid), however it will ONLY track the loads
connected to the “LOAD” terminal, but it...
Probably not. My install required an external disconnect. Also, my installer installed a lockable circuit breaker. The utility rejected it. They wanted a knife switch lockable disconnect.
Did you get a response from tech support other than the automated email reply that we will get back to you in 24 hours? I submitted a tech support ticket Friday and I've heard nothing. Did you notice that the request for tech support no longer has a field to explain the problem? I'm wondering if...
I performed a power cycle reset today and now my graph data for today is severely wrong showing export of 2,000KWH with little to no PV.
Edit: It's a one day error. However, month and year export data are now greater than PV production. .
The old Eversource interconnect agreement had a supplement form for batteries including adding batteries to an existing system. I was trying to follow the process, but I'm done with it. Stupid bureaucracy.
I was interested in joining Connected Solutions, but that's not going to happen now.
I wish more people would include their state or country in their profile. When posting about solar production, it tells us little if we don't know where you are geographically.
I have some ability to compare with and without them. One roof, with 204 deg. azimuth is 8.1 KW without optimizers. The other 2 roofs are 190 deg. azimuth with 8 KW on one and 6.8 KW on the other. The roof without optimizers consistently outperforms the other 2. However, each roof has different...
I wonder if Sol-Ark is struggling with making their optimizer work with their Arc Fault detector. They can and do shrug off issues with TIGO as being wire fault. That's not going to fly when it's their optimizer. Sol-Ark signed off on the basic TIGO RSD, but not the models that work with TPA and...
I understand your problem, but I have no information on your battery. I do know that batteries should be connected to the Sol-Ark CAN port (not RS485). Probably true for Deye, but I'm not sure. At one time Sol-Ark published the battery mode settings for a number of batteries. If I recall...
Definitely the inverter as well. It's beeping and not producing until I clear the fault. The fault shows up on PowerView as well as MySolArk. This occurs on my neighbors inverter as well as mine. Yesterday both faulted at the same time. We both had a good run without arc faults, but lately...
My home system with batteries could do peak shaving or TOU, but Eversource NH doesn't have demand charges or on/off peak rates for residential customers. Also, their VPP program, Connected Solutions, only accepts Enphase batteries.
I have a Sol-Ark without a battery, so I'm not an expert. However, I'm thinking the invertor is unaware of the true SOC of the battery. When charging from the generator the invertor should stop charging at 95% SOC. In Battery Setup make sure BMS Lithium Batt is checked and the two digit mode is...
I've also had afterhours arc faults

I live in a rural area without any streetlights. Nearest lighting is someone's porch light 500' away.
I submitted a support ticket for these and got no response.
I read today that ground neutral bond should be at the first point of disconnect. Is this true? I had a Sol-Ark 15K installed with an external AC disconnect. I doubt my installer moved the ground neutral bond from my main service panel to the disconnect. Why would this be important?
My 20 year old home has 200 amp service, but I don't even come close to fully utilizing it. I reviewed my load data for 2024 and maximum load was 8KW. My daily KWH ranges from 10 to 20. I have electric range, drier and 3 zone heat pump. I wanted to review my grid disconnects, but that data is...
This agreement may not be current. If it is why were 3 phase units in WA bricked? Also, one in Costa Rica (Central America) was bricked. The Sol-Ark dealer map shows many dealers in Central America.
@jharrell Tell us about your current setup. Maybe we can relate better. You're an enigma. Your last post on this forum is January 2025. Where have you been since 2021?
Today I had the same failure that happened late December. The 15K disconnected due to a brief power outage and did not reconnect. I had to turn off the PV, open the load breaker, turn off the inverter and open the AC disconnect and then turn everything back on in reverse. I guess I need to add...
I've watched two webinars on this battery. I'm not sure if it was this video, but one of them described a gateway that is required for BMS updates. It's about $1,000. That makes this battery uncompetitive with Pytes. The Pytes V5 battery has a $37 Wi-Fi dongle.
Pytes is also...
PV production is significantly reduced if I turn on TOU. All time slots are set to 100% SOC and 0 watts. Neither Charge or Sell are selected.
My system is wired whole house backup and Sol-Ark is set to Limited Power to Load.
I was trying to use Grid Peak Shaving, but that setting automatically...
I need to check my oldest system. It has no battery and there's nothing plugged into any nearby outlets. I don't know what's powering the TX. Did you mean 500 ma. ?
It's absurd for Sol-Ark to show the TX connected to 15 and 16 if these devices draw more than 100 ma.
@GregTR I've had a few back and forth with Sol-Ark, but got interrupted by a snow storm and 2 day + power outage. Sol-Ark is telling me that I need a battery so the Sol-Ark doesn't need to curtail PV production. But as you noted that doesn't work when the battery is full. Are you seeing PV...
This is my 3rd day of running solely from PV and battery. I set all time slots to 12,000 watts and 20% SOC. This is just a test. I have 1:1 net metering. There's no financial benefit for me to operate this way.
Correct, but I suspect Sol-Ark just deleted the selection from the GUI, not the functionality. Sol-Ark tech support told me to wait and see if the selection is available in the new MySolArk monitoring app that should be available in May.
