cleaning your panels - system off?

I've never heard that before. However, I do like to clean my panels first thing in the morning before they get hot.

    Living with the DuroMAX XP9000iH

A few weeks went by and no word from the repair shop so I called and was only able to leave a message requesting an update. The following day I get a call from a freight company to schedule the delivery of a new generator. I immediately contacted DuroMax and reminded them of their policy, to...

    Living with the DuroMAX XP9000iH

A quick update. I got a call from the repair shop on Friday saying DuroMax is releasing the control boards that have been held up in customs for the last several months. I was disappointed to hear DuroMax wants to try and repair it again even though it's failed to be repaired twice now. I...

    Living with the DuroMAX XP9000iH

That's interesting, I have the same generator as a backup to our HP9000iX. It's only had minimal use on propane with no problems. I think in moving forward I will use it primarily on gas if necessary. As far as other brands, look into the Westinghouse or perhaps the Genmax, which I just got...

    Living with the DuroMAX XP9000iH

I got a call from the repair shop about the XP9000iH with an update. The owner said he got it running again. BUT every time he switches it to propane the fuse behind the panel blows. This was the same issue I had with the first one. He said he looked at the fuel solenoid but thinks its for gas...

    Living with the DuroMAX XP9000iH

The device on the second picture was connected to the airbox towards the front panel. Attached is a parts view of the generator, I think you'll find it helpful.

    Living with the DuroMAX XP9000iH

I opened up both side panels but couldn't find anything that looked similar to this part. The closest I could find were these.

    Living with the DuroMAX XP9000iH

I shared the concerns about the fuel solenoid with my contact at DuroMax and this was his response..FWIW. Thanks for sending that over. I’ve had my concerns on that solenoid for a while because I have seen some issues that stem from it. I know that piece was changed up (in design) but the issue...

    Living with the DuroMAX XP9000iH

Thanks that should be easy to spot. I’ll follow up with what I find after I open it up.

    Living with the DuroMAX XP9000iH

I'm not sure what the fuel solenoid looks like or where it would be located. If you can help guide me I'll be happy to look. In your original post you talk about the fuel solenoid not designed for continuous duty, which could be my problem if that's what went out in the DuroMax. Our generator...

    Living with the DuroMAX XP9000iH

Interestingly enough I’m on my second XP9000iH. The front panel on my first one died after about 6 months. I called DuroMax and was instructed to take it to a local repair shop. I assumed it burned out as the generator was running during a 100+ day. The repair shop was unable to repair the...

    Mac-friendly inverter?

Nearly all Victron equipment is accessible via MacOS and iOS including firmware updates. However, the MultiPlus-II needs a PC to update the firmware. Fortunately, if you buy a current model that firmware hasn't been updated in like a year. Just make sure your reseller updates the firmware and...

    Where is @Will Prowse?

Will, I think a real world from design-to-completion trailer install would be helpful to new viewers.

Solar to power my RV fridge while stored at home, realistic?

We keep our fridge on off the solar when we're not there. The daily power use with the fridge on ranges from 1.6kWh during the winter when it doesn't need to run the compressor much to 2.8kWh per day during the summer when the trailer's inside temperature hits the mid 90's.

    New MultiPlus-II 12/3000/120-50 2x120V Inverter/Charger Install

Thought I'd do a quick update. I recently added 3 more solar panels bringing me up to 8. Since my trailer is surrounded by trees having those extra 3 panels were sorely needed. I also added another BB GC2 battery bringing me up to 500 amp. This maxes me out on space for panels and batteries...
