    Inverter question

What's the model of the 3kW inverter? Doesn't it have some terminal for directly wiring it? Those appliances you mention shouldn't blow a 13A fuse though. Assuming 200W for the fridge, 200W freezer, 100W TV and 500W washing machine, that's 1kW. (4A at 240V).

I just bought a Ampeak 1200 Watt Pure sign wave inverter for $71 with a digital display. Who thinks it will be good or junk?

Alright I decided to open the inverter to see what I could do with the temp sensor. The terminals for the AC outlets of the inverter are super loose, they popped out of their place when I removed the front cover of the inverter. Also the N and L cables are flipped around, the PCB says that...

I just bought a Ampeak 1200 Watt Pure sign wave inverter for $71 with a digital display. Who thinks it will be good or junk?

Alright I can confirm that the issue is the temp sensor, because now that it is cooler at night the fan does stop, however it still cycles on and off every now and then because the inverter warms up a bit when idling to trigger the fan threshold. Kinda odd that the inverter doesn't a varible...

I just bought a Ampeak 1200 Watt Pure sign wave inverter for $71 with a digital display. Who thinks it will be good or junk?

Alright I bought the inverter and I finally have it, things are not looking great. With no load the fans are at full power, and the internal temperature display says 107F when the actual temperature is about 90F, maybe this is why the fans are at full blast all the time, I will wait for the...

I just bought a Ampeak 1200 Watt Pure sign wave inverter for $71 with a digital display. Who thinks it will be good or junk?

Can this inverter really work down to 9.5V? I might get one to use it with a 3S pack.

Safe Grid Use of the 5000ES and transformer

Alright I think I'm a bit late to this but I'll just leave a diagram and explanation because really a lot of the things that have been said here are very confusing if not completely wrong, even the diagrams provided by signature solar don't explain it. If you have a 230V inverter with a N to G...

Connecting 20 wind turbines in series ?!

You had the capacitor where the bypass diode would be on my diagram right? All 6 turbines are of the same voltage? You made sure that you did not wire any of the capacitors backwards right?? Because that would explain the stalling. Try an add the bypass diodes, because that way the bridge...

    Building a DIY Lifepo4 charger

I assume that by DC step down transformer you mean a DC-DC converter. Buck converter in this case. This would be a non isolated power supply. You can do it but a failure in the converter will very likely result in massive damage to the battery and everything that's connected to it and a fire...

Connecting 20 wind turbines in series ?!

You can try to rectify the output of each wind turbine to DC right at the pole then wire all of that DC in series. And each rectified DC from each turbine gets its own bypass diode, just like series PV. Here's an example with 3 turbines: Also the bypass diode isn't really 100% needed because...

    Giandel NO Ground-Neutral Bonding

You can use an ATS that switches the neutral to avoid that problem. I have this one cheap 3P ATS 110V coil from aliexpress: https://streamable.com/dzkzvu It is also surprisingly very fast at switching. It switches a subpanel where I have most general purpose receptacles and lighting circuits...

Do North American electricians test impedance?

US electricians dont test for impedance unfortunately. UK electricians can tell if there is a loose connection in a circuit if they notice that the loop impedance between N and L isn't the same. US electricians could do the same even without ring circuits, just find the last receptacle of a...

    Giandel NO Ground-Neutral Bonding

There is nothing wrong with ungrounded systems, people mistake grounding with bonding all the time, it is the later that provides shock protection. Having an ungrounded system means that it behaves like an isolation transformer, there is only 120V between L and ''N'' (N is not the right term...

Is it possible to use a 120v relay as an automatic transfer switch?

More like 1.5 kW total, why should I have to worry? Did you not see the review? The thing is built better than most inverters of that range, similar inverters would just use the thin metal casing as heatsink for both sides for example, the H bridge fets would be less capable as well. '''I've...

Is it possible to use a 120v relay as an automatic transfer switch?

The inverter can power it no problems, it is one of the reasons why I have that specific model, there's a nice 4 part review of it on youtube: We've been using it since 2018 and has performed great, and it has overloaded just once and it was because we tried to run the coffee maker with the...

Is it possible to use a 120v relay as an automatic transfer switch?

I used a TOCT1-63 2NC 2NO contactor, rated for 400V. It is just one contactor, are you using just one contactor? Or you have two electrically interlocked contactors? The later of course will have no problems. The Inverter is a Bestek 1000W MSW, it is powered by a 3S lithium battery (10.95V...
