Does yours go to float before it ever get a chance to bulk charge? I finally set my 2424 to Solar, Utility, battery for the dark winter days. It at least supplies some of my daytime loads with solar when sunny out.
My split phase lv2424 does is setup with a critical loads switch for fridge, furnace, basic household lighting, and does knock down energy consumption during full sun days if I’m around to flip switches. I halve about 3k of solar. The lv2424 does not do a good job of bulk charging my 800ah of...
It took a bit to get the serial connection going with one of my laptops. It looks like my 2 server rack units are pretty close. I guess I didn't realize that the EG4's nominal voltage of 25.6 volts was actually only 20% SOC and going below that would set off the Alarm LED.
Thanks for the chart. It explains a lot. The EG4 specs say to Bulk at 28.5 and float at 28.25 and I have set that as close as the PIP's can in the user settings. I set the "switch to utility" to 25.5v which is close to 20% SOC. I was assuming that 25.6v nominal was 100% SOC. DC cutoff is set to...
Hi, I have two 24v EG4's setup in parallel to my split phase setup with 2 MPP Solar LV2424's. I am trying to set some conservative settings to retain some storage for an actual power outage. The battery nominal voltage is listed as 25.6 volts.
I have them setup to stop discharging at 24 volts...
I never heard back by email. I have a split phase setup with two MPP Solar LV2424's and was able to get my system to start up with my old lead acid bank, temporarily for a few seconds, parallel the new batteries (2 24v EG4's), then switch out the old bank with a DC switch. I've been running for...
Did you pull a alarm code from the unit? I think my initial problem might have been I had the inverter part of the LV2424 turned off and it shut down when I had no more PV. I'm thinking the BMS didn't know what happened and threw a short circuit error. I got through day 1 with the two batteries...
Emailed tech support. I got a response, but basically nothing was resolved. I sent a couple more emails after I received my 2nd unit, and it did the same thing. It looks like a pre-charge issue with my MPP Solar LV2424 inverters. Starting my split phase system on the old lead acid bank in...
I was able to get around this with the two 24v EG4s. It looks very much like the pre-load resister is the culprit. I hope @Signature Solar is able to come up with a better solution.
It got too dark before I had a chance to wire in another switch, so I did parallel the the lead acid bank with the EG4 bank for about 30 seconds and then switched off the old batteries and the system is up and running again with both of my 24v EG4s. The BMS software shows one of the 2 EG4's...
Finished the thread. It looks like I should be able to get the system booted in the daytime with solar and the inverter part of the pip on, and with the AC in connected. Paralleling the batteries shouldn't be a problem in the short term, but as long as I have light, I should be able to switch...
