recommendation for ve direct usb alternative that is ISOLATED?

Theres plenty of them 10 usb tll thingys but they backfeed voltage in some cases so what I need is something that isolates the usb thingy the same way victron's ve direct usb does but without the ridicolous 50 usd price :X

Pzem-025 shunt with display. Surprisingly capable

Had this shunt to measure incoming power and voltage on my PV line for a year. Works great. Recently i reconfigured my solar array so it now have almost 400v oc and 340v during mpp. The shunt is rated for only 300v but i just found out it can only display 300v max everything else works fine up...

    Daly bms and Solar assistant

use emulated bms in solar assistant instead. Solar assistant uses bms to get state of charge data only (i think) and daly bms cant measure soc. It can maybe guess soc but im willing to bet it just uses a random number generator to display soc.

Why do powmr sell their units so cheap now?

Should always turn on and turn off in right order, more so with cheap Chinese stuff. Off 1 AC out breaker 2 PV in breaker 3 Inverter (if it have on off switch) 4 battery breaker Turn on in reverse order.

Trying to learn some fundamentals of electricity with help of AI.. big mistake

I always though that chat gpt and similar ai's where dumb AF when it came to basic human communication that even a toddler would be more apt at. But to ask some basic electrical question and be given 3 different answerer/self corrections is just.. wow. Im not doing anything with my system im not...

Best way to handle excess solar production

cheapest would be to dump excess energy into a large hot water tank for later use. Most economic (but upfront expensive) is to refuel hydrogen cells for winter season usage. Dumbest is to sell it to the grid because: When are you able to sell to the grid? When sun is shining When is power cheap...

Partial shading on panels put in series doesn't seem to be any issue at all

lol love it great video. Heres a "tldr" kinda screenshot:

V2.29 firmware for POW-HPM5.6KW (and maybe others) 2.29

This firmware is compiled 19 June 2023 and got it from powmr support for my unit POW-HPM5.6KW. No idea if it may work with other powmr units or other srne clones.

Partial shading on panels put in series doesn't seem to be any issue at all

"Normal panels" Half cut percs 34v 10A at Pmax. 2 strings in parallel. Each string in series of 9 . No additional hardware it goes directly into my AiO inverter (via dc breaker ofc) https://static.trinasolar.com/sites/default/files/EU_TSM_DE06H%28II%29_datasheet_A_2019_Web.pdf and similar...

Partial shading on panels put in series doesn't seem to be any issue at all

I dont know if i maybe have some super good low light performing panels but partial shading does not bring down the entire array in a way that seem to be the general consensus . In worst case scenario covering one panel with a blanket and it would at least be able to pass on the current from the...

    Dc breaker with resistor?

    I tried it anyway...

    Dc breaker with resistor?

See crude diagram :> Breaking procedure 1 then 2 then lastly 3 where resistor is disconnected last.

    Dc breaker with resistor?

It would be easy to test this. Worst (best?) case scenario to produce an disconnect arc would be to put your solar array into direct short circuit during full sun. Pv pos and neg connected directly to each other and then opened. Basically max amp 0 voltage closed circuit. Opening this curcuit...

Anyone got solar assistant to work with POW-HPM5.6KW?

Mailed solar assistant asking but they wont reply, I have a strong feeling if I would buy the software and find out it wont work I wont get a refund.

any dc meter that can display up to 500v and over 20A?

I think I worded my question a bit wrong. The type of unit Im looking for has a real robust shunt able to handle 100A. The one I got right now Can measure 300V and got an 100A shunt. The capacitors is even able to handle the 320 open circuit voltage of my solar array but wont display above 300V.
