    Adding more solar panels

This might work for my situation but for others that have smaller systems only have the Epever 40a SCC, would be nice if there was a stand alone shunt device that would have current limiting features.

    Adding more solar panels

Are there other SCC that have this feature? I have a couple friends I am helping out and they only have the epever currently

    Adding more solar panels

For my main system I have the Midnite Classic 150 with the Wizbang shunt which allows me to limit end current to the battery to 84 amps. Is there anything similar device that can be added to the main cable going to the batteries for this type of setup. I wouldn't want to send too much current to...

    Adding more solar panels

yes the SCC will have a limit for sure which needs to be respected, so I guess the only way would be to add a second SCC for the new strings (serried/paralleled). If the SCC are not connected they should still respect the settings for the charging and not cause any problems I am guessing. Would...

    Adding more solar panels

Is there a way to add more solar panels to a system but have the system limit the extra volts/amps if its not needed? I can get my hands on some good used panels and wanted to install some that get sun other times in the day. This would help to get more solar even during overcast days.

4x 6 volt battery cable length

I am upgrading my system this summer from 2x 6 volts configured for 12 volts to 4x 6v staying in 12v. I had the 2 batteries connected together using a 1 foot cable between the first battery - to the second +. Now that I will have 4 batteries what is the best orientation for series-parallel and...

    Inverter selection

I've looked through the first few pages of this forum but cant seem to find a definite answer. I know this is one of those "Ford or Chev" questions and there is not a correct answer but I am looking for opinions on inverters. I currently have a Kisae 2000w inverter charger (IC122055). I am...

Epever 5415an can’t get full charg amps

No problem, always appreciate the answers. It is still too small but I had ordered the 50a before really doing all the math and having more knowledge. I am currently aiming to return it and purchase either a classic 150 or victron 150/100 (or 250/100) with a shunt for controlled current delivery...

Epever 5415an can’t get full charg amps

Actually the third will help with the bulk for sure. I need 42a for battery bulk and about 8 to 10a for loads that I can’t remove while charging. 40a has not been cutting it for me because the load is taking away 1/4 of the charge current

Epever 5415an can’t get full charg amps

Ok that makes sense, so depending where the charge is at the voltage will be higher and I can see that changes the results. I have a third panel I will connect to see if I can get more amps out of the array

Epever 5415an can’t get full charg amps

I have 2x l16 interstates that I’m told are made by is batteries, link bellow. I have not measured the sun power, I mean they are not shaded and are on a slight degree pointing at the sun. maybe my math is not correct but i am taking the full watts and dividing by 12v to get my estimated max...

Epever 5415an can’t get full charg amps

Upgraded my 40a SCC to 50a so that I could charge my batteries at their rated 42a + run my loads at the same time. My array is 2x 350w in series. For some reason I can only still get the SCC to output 40a, panels are getting 100% sun. Any idea why I’m not getting more?

    Battery gravity doesn’t look good

What shunt is needed to perform proper battery current charge in the victron? Is the monitoring device needed or is that the smart phone connected to Bluetooth for setup

    Battery gravity doesn’t look good

Yes my batteries are FLA. I’ve already set the SCC to the manual specs (bulk 10% of 420ah, 42 amps, boost 14.7v, eq 15.3v, float 13v). The temp probe is taped to center side of battery. currently I have 4 solar panels (350w x 4) connected in 2 pairs seried then paralleled, where I have it...

    Battery gravity doesn’t look good

After reading and monitoring the current change using my battery meter shunt device, I was starting to think the same thing. Can Epever MPPT sense by resistance or something if the batteries are getting the correct amount of amps? I currently have the Epever 40a MPPT and the 50a version on its...
