    Electric water heater: Any insight/experience?

I guess the consensus is pretty much "it might work *maybe*, but propanes way better" lol for only about $150 I think I might give it a try for now and continue looking into more about the propane units. Most likely I'll upgrade later on and keep this little guy as a backup. All my other...

    Electric water heater: Any insight/experience?

Hey all, just wondering if anyone can share any insight or experience on using an electric water heater. The one I'm looking at is a small 2.5 gallon bosch mini says its (max?) wattage is 1440. Probably just enough for dishes and whatnot...

    Solar panel fusing

Okay, where's the part about how my growatt 24v 3000w AIO recommends fusing anyway? Like are you trying to help or what? Why don't you stop lecturing me and just ignore my thread instead? I said I had the math down I was asking for specific products that people have used, and chrisski answered...

    Solar panel fusing

to remove the input before disconnecting batteries... would be easier with a disconnect involved. Yes, I am not disagreeing with anyone that fusing is not required for 2P. However, my AIO specifically recommends this. Perhaps when I have issues down the road they will ask if I have followed the...

    Solar panel fusing

Thank you for the recommendation! This is probably what I'm going to use, I've heard some good stuff on midnite but didn't know they had breakers too. This way I can be "better safe than sorry" and have a reliable disconnect in case I need it.

    Solar panel fusing

My growatt's manual specifically recommends fusing before the MPPT, so I'm trying to go "by the book" here guys. Also considering the info I've found elsewhere online also says fusing is required if you go over the rating on the panel -maybe in my specific case that's not true (for some reason)...

    Solar panel fusing

Thanks but I'm asking more specifically for recommendations on products from experience, (I am pretty sure) I've already got the basics down. What did you do in your set-up, for example? Brands to recommend?

    Solar panel fusing

Hey all, I'm sure this has all been discussed before but I still just want to be sure I'm getting everything correct This is my first solar set up and I'm looking to figure out a fuse point between my panels and my Growatt 24v 3000w All in one SPECS: Rated Power: 250W Open circuit voltage...

    Cable size/fusing

Thanks again everyone, I'll go with a 200amp class t fuse as suggested. I've heard good things about putting the hammer crimp in the vise so I'm gonna give that a try and see how it goes, if that goes south I'll look and see if I can find any pros in the area and go that route

    Cable size/fusing

A lot of people on the reviews of the hammer crimp said to just put it in a vise instead of hammering, is that what you mean?

    Cable size/fusing

I'm planning on getting the hammer crimp, says it can handle 2 awg.. anyone have bad experience with those?

    Cable size/fusing

for bonus points: I just need a bus bar for the negative side, right? same size as the circuit breaker -150 amps? sorry, I'm learning!

    Cable size/fusing

Thanks for the replies everyone! Being as my battery bank will be within 3-5 feet from the inverter I don't think voltage drop will be an issue so I'll still go 2 AWG (assuming I read that VD diagram you posted correctly -all the diagrams for this stuff look like postmodern art! lol) I'm...

    Cable size/fusing

Hi all, I've got my main components picked out and now I'm getting all the smaller doodads and cabling. I've got 6 of the ECI power 12v 100ah batteries going in to a 24v battery bank, as far as I can tell 2 AWG wire is recommended by my inverter (Growatt 24v 3000 watt AIO) but the manual is...

How to newb: Growatt 24v 3000w system

Hi all, I have been trying for about a week now to start figuring things out but my head is spinning and I just don't think I can pull this off alone. I'm watching videos and seeing what other people did but everything seems to be so conflicting, and when I try to get a feel for the mechanics of...
