It seems my terminology has "5 question mark" confused you. :)
Delta refers to the voltage differential between the highest and lowest cell.
Knee refers to the extreme ends of the charge curve for lifepo4 cells.
I tried to link directly to the data at...
Or you could just sell the inverter/charger you have and get one with the "drinking bird" feature baked in.
It won't be calld "drinking bird" though.
Different brands call the feature by different names.
@PriusFan you could make drinking bird
with 1of these
and one of these
The smart battery protect turns the shore power on/off based on system voltage...
Cells can be really close at "shipping" voltage but still quite un-balanced at the top.
So the answer is, we don't know.
Its getting more popular to assemble the cells into a series pack complete with bms and charge them up to see if a top balance is required.
If it is you can top off the cells...
Victron Lynx power in doesn't support fuses, are you doing this trick?
Nice drawing of a nice design.
You have the shunt and BMS reversed from the orthodox setup.
Its not wrong but worthy of note.
I suggest you take your shunt's positive feed from the system side of the class-t fuse.
IMO the advantages are with the inverter/charger.
In addition to a big iron transformer the Inverter/chargers typically have a microprocessor which allows them lots of features and granular configuration.
The also typically have an automatic transfer switch that syncs the inverter to the mains...
These are the dip setting for the 2 profiles that I think you should use.
They are the same except the lead acid one has float.
off is up
down is on
