    EG4 6000EX - Double Ground/Neutral

The N-G is bonded in my small panel that is fed from my inverter. When i did the test that FilterGuy recomended I disconected everything from the AC out on the inverter (ground, neutral, hot). The only thing connected to the inverter when i did my test was the battery cables. I beleive i had my...

    EG4 6000EX - Double Ground/Neutral

Thanks. I had hoped at some point to feed my inverter when batteries got low in my off-grid setup from an outlet from house, but will refrain from doing that with the bonding issues. Thanks again.

    EG4 6000EX - Double Ground/Neutral

So user ZWY says my unit is N-G bonded, but you say it isn't. And Sig Solar tech told me it was after I did the continuity test. You can see how easy it is to get confused. EDIT After re-read I g user ZWY posts, I think he concurs with you, that it is not bonded in battery/ inverter mode.

    EG4 6000EX - Double Ground/Neutral

It's a fairly new inverter. It's the newer model (second version) I purchased it in late November. I thought I read posts where they were not putting in ground screw in them anymore. Here is a link on YouTube where guy says you need to add bonding screw for his camper

    EG4 6000EX - Double Ground/Neutral

I have no AC input. Just "for now" only have 8 36v panels (280w), EG4 3kW 120V inverter and two 5kW lithium batteries. According to tech at SigSolar he told me after I did continuity test over phone with him the neutral & bond were connected in AIO. When I first checked inverter with battery...

    EG4 6000EX - Double Ground/Neutral

I'm confused, Filterguy said "That is a sure sign the neutral is not bonded to the ground." You are saying it is bonded in the inverter?

    EG4 6000EX - Double Ground/Neutral

No, i disconnected the feeds to the panel (including the ground) when I checked the voltage. I just had the battery on and the inverter on. Yes, when I measured the continuity, it created a sound on the meter, but the meter was showing different readings (oscillating).

    EG4 6000EX - Double Ground/Neutral

I have an EG4 3kW and I measured the voltage as you requested and I got 62Volts. You stated if the voltage is more than a volt or so, it would indicate there is no bond while in inverter mode. Signature solar had me test my unit for continuity a few days ago and told me if I had continuity, the...

Is it worth it to add one more panel?

I have 8 panels and have an extra one in the garage. the panels are 280W. Is it worth it to add one more panel? It's about an 11% increase in power. (2240w vs 2520w) my current system has a AIO 3000w inverter and 10kw in lifo battery 48v. My inverter uses about 60w of power and my loads are...

Setting up Main Lug Distribution Box for Shed / Cabin for AIO 3kW Inverter

I have a 15x15 shed that I use for a small office for my computer / router (some other misc items). I have a All-In-One 3kW inverter with (8) 250w panels connected to it and have (2) 48V 5kW (10kW total) EG4 batteries. Right now the AC output on the AIO is just direcly to a 120V outlet and...

How many of you DIY have panels on your house roof with no Rapid Shutdown?

Rapid Shutdown or a way to turn off power from solar array like MLPE. I would like to a purchase a All-In-One Inverter (Growatt, MPP or EP4) and use it with a few used solar panels i have. However, I would like to be able to shut the power down from the array in an emergency. Whether or not it's...

How many of you DIY have panels on your house roof with no Rapid Shutdown?

I would like to know if a lot of people actually have solar panels on their "city" home roof without optimizers or rapid shutdown for the panels? I would like to install 10 panels with an 3000W All-in-One inverter not tied into my existing home wiring. I would use it to power with an extension...

Install a Growatt AIO and Lithium battery on covered patio?

I live in West Palm Beach Florida, never gets cold. Does get humid. I only plan to run computer equipment / security cameras and other things in my office. Also plan to have as a backup in case of major power outage. I thought about putting it in my office, but I heard the Growatt's can be very...

Install a Growatt AIO and Lithium battery on covered patio?

I was wondering if anyone has installed an All-In-One Inverter on the outside of their house? I also plan to have a 100lb EV4 battery. I have no basement and no room in the garage. If I would install it in my office, I think the fans would drive me crazy. I don't plan tying in the inverter to...

if a 48V battery can be lethal, how about a 40V panel?

I didn't realize "the different reactions" I would get when I started this post. Wow I was speaking to a friend of mine who is an electrical guy and does a lot of work on high end boats and asked him the same question, I posted. He told me about 30 years ago there was a big boat in town that...
