Can anyone from Signature Solar tell me the nearest place to Douglas, WY they can ship to? Or even Lusk, WY. I'm about 1/2 way in between. I could even go to Casper if I had to. I was going to order a couple EG4 48v batteries.
My system is:
(12) 340W panels in 3 strings
Midnite Classic Lite 150 cc
Outback VFX3648 Inverter
(4) Signature Solar Lifepower4 48v 5kw batteries
I've had this system working since May and it has just started getting really cold here in WY. The day before yesterday, it was mostly cloudy so...
I purchased 2 of these about a month before the other 2 and noticed the 1st 2 seem to charge/discharge at a different rate. I recently put some buss bars on them and I'm waiting for days that are sunny so I can get up early and run the space heaters and what not to run them down and watch them...
I'm not sure how to do a PM here. Do I mouse over the avatar and click 'Start Conversation'? jberger: I have a Rpi but I guess Solar Assistant only works with MPP. I'm using a Midnite Classic 150/Outback Inverter.
this guy says he has a solution, I haven't done the wiring yet. I'm going to fiddle with it later. I'll let you know if I have any results. Apparently, there's 2 different version of the BMS software. I can't seem to find the one shown in the manual.
I have 4 of the EG4's and I could not get the BMS software to work. I see a lot of people having trouble with it. I don't think it's worth a crap. It looks like it was written by some flunkie in China. No documentation. I just watch the SOC lights and hope for the best.
Before I added the 2 new ones, I charged each one till the charger quit and the lights went solid. They were all at around 54vdc. The 2 or 3 times I charged the 2 with the generator I watched the inverter stop charging. The inverter draws 20A from the generator.
