Gave up on finding a simple solution for this. Would require a high volt/watt shunt. My 4 arrays are 3700w each and some days they are kicking out 3000w each per the throttled inverter reading and they are running my whole house, so I am happy.
Mine just started working one day. No idea. Running the system everyday and it is still working great. Just have some issues with the appliances with thermostats (frig, freezers, etc) causing load imbalances when they kick on. No big issues, just causes the LED house lights to flash and the...
Yep, understood. Did not intend to phrase it that way. Just asking question in multiple ways so Richard would know exactly what I was asking. He put a fork in the issue. It is done!!
Awesome. Just wanted to nail that down. A couple of other forum members and I are engaged in conversations on this issue and the owner's manual is not that clear. Thanks Richard for all your info and help. My EG4 solar system is running great. Heat index here in Texas is 110 to 120, so I am...
So Richard are you saying that the maximum voltage is 500VOC per inverter or 500VOC per PV input? Because the video posted above featuring a Signature Solar representative (Alex) and a EG4 representative (Ricchard - maybe you) clearly states starting at the 6:13 mark that EACH PV input can...
Ok, I think I have a definitive answer for you. Video link below is EG4 rep and sig solar rep describing EG4 6500. Go to the 6:15 mark in the video and rep says EACH PV input will accept 500v. Which confirms my lack of fault error 11 running 370v on each PV input
Talked to Peyton at SS today. He said SS was still fighting the fault 61 issue while using battery code "EG4". He said it was either a cable issue or firmware issue. He said once a fix is found all users will be updated. In the mean time, the fix is to set battery code as "user" and adjust menu...
104 degees here right now. I am inside researching surge protectors, lightning protection, etc. You plan on using any surge protection on your solar array PV input?
Also, I tried the DC disconnect for the PV inputs, but I am pretty sure I was losing some amps in that disconnect, so I went with 1000v 125 amp DC breakers as shown below (and similar to Will's setup). The boxes for the breakers only come with two glands, so I ordered a gland kit from Amazon. I...
PV is cooking pretty good already this morning, batteries charging and under small 800w load. Per the inquiry yesterday, I touch all the wires and all are cool to the touch. I will check them again when under heavy load.
I know Will and EG4 recommend using a double pole breaker for the input to the main panel in case you want to add more than 2 inverters. I do not think I will ever add a third inverter so I just connected one leg of the inverter AC output to one of the main lugs and connected the other leg from...
