Mismatched Panels - 2 Panels Parallel to 1 in Series

There is a small mismatch but the percent lost would be in the 1-2% range. Not enough to worry about.

Mismatched Panels - 2 Panels Parallel to 1 in Series

A better solution would be 2 standard off the shelf 72 cell panels (36 volts ea. @MPP) wired in series and then put in parallel with your 72 volt panels. In that case you would not be limiting either string (s) of panels. The voltages would be the same but each string would operate at their own...

    Midnight polarized breaker direction

The 63 amp breaker is the MNPV-63 din rail breaker.....made by Circuit Breaker International......the QY series.....the ones that will be replaced by non-polarized What we are talking about is the MNDC-100 amp panel mount breaker made by Carling Technologies the “C” series breaker which IS...

    Midnight polarized breaker direction

I have an all Midnight system with MNPV6 combiners with MNPV breakers and a MNDC-15 circuit breaker box with MNDC panel mount breakers for all the solar controllers wired as per midnight’s instruction and have never had a problem. The DC breaker box also has the breakers for the Exeltech...

iPad instead of Victron GX Touch

I do have and use the victron app for both iPhone and iPad, it allows basic programming of victron components but it does not have the cerbo screens. That is entirely doable. All it takes is the creative app to do it.

iPad instead of Victron GX Touch

The iPad is not limited in it’s display capability, its a matter of the app.

    Not to happy with Magnum.

The PAE passes through AC without any wave shaping at all.

    Not to happy with Magnum.

My magnum does just fine on an slow speed traditional copper wound generator but mine is made in USA ONAN whose copper alone weighs more than an asian big box generator which does have more rorational mass than a cheepie throw away. 4kw 1800 rpm 380 lbs. Its mass makes it very stable

Full Electric Drive Conversion of Tri-Axle Coach 21700 or prismatic? Battery cycle Testers..?

I think that my point was that they use LFP......not Lithium ion.....for safety! Also Gillig and Crown use only LFP in their busses Looking further you will find that all the tugger trucks at the ports of Los Angeles, Long Beach , and Oakland are electric and all that I have looked at are LFP...

Moving Inverter, 100' run Copper or Aluminum direct bury?

When you join the aluminum cable to copper do use cu/al rated connectors and anti oxidizing compound such as Ideal Industries No-Alox, then when tightening the connectors wait 10-15 minutes , retighten them. Both Aluminum and Copper will deform in shape when clamping thus reducing clamping...

    Midnight polarized breaker direction

The one thing that drew me to Midnight Solar is the totally complete support of the customer. I was looking for a really good, no fail solar controller after having spent way too much time trying to get some equipment to be reliable. Before I bought anything I poked around to all the...

    Midnight polarized breaker direction

The + symbol indicates the source capable of the maximum power, not the maximum voltage. Take the case of a Midnight Solar Classic 150 solar controller with a 5000 watt array connected to a 826 a.h. battery bank and the controller massively short circuits.... maximum power from controller to...

    200Ah LiFePo4 cells BMS/tester

Under what conditions did that cell fail? Im recovering a bunch of LFP pouches and all seem good so far.

    Please Explain to this Newbie

If each battery has it’s own BMS then the current would be 1/2 total load on each BMS ( much better way to protect each battery)
