I tend to believe....if my battery bank is 400AH and my peak charging is hardly 40A. Stress to the battery should be almost zero and I should always recharge it to 100% whever possible

Ooh...I hear you, but I think that could work well with polar locations. I am very close to equator. Only 6 degrees South. So, now is the coldest time of the year, and am seeing the maximum 115v. My experience, tells me my voltage never goes beyond 118v throughout the year.

Moreover..... As float voltage = bulk voltage.... This saves alot of battery cycles as once the battery bank is full.... Even if it is 9am, the remainder of the day will be consuming PV power directly instead of charge/discharge cycles to get to a float voltage. I guess to my case this saves...
