Hello all.
I got these battery in from the long waiting list.....
These are 230AH eve Cells. A total of 8.
I had top balanced the cells to 3.65 v and built a single 4S pack for testing their capacity.
This is what I have below. I did build a small box to help keep the cells intact.
Yes, did...
I found my stash. Added the inverter with some 1/0 gauge wires. Fuse will be in tomorrow.
Almost there. I was able to pull a 1550 watt load for a few seconds before the inverter went in protection mode due to the small 120 amp BMS.
Pulled about 150+amp for that short period of time. So far so...
Hello All.
As the title states, I am putting together a solar system based on what I have read on here.
I was looking at the most recommended batteries, but they are currently not available for ordering. (SOK)
Has anyone used this type of battery?
Please provide any input possible. (I hope I...
Yes, I adjusted the value to match the bulk voltage of the SCC which is set at 14.3v.
That is the max voltage I have set as the parameters in the BMS. Below are my numbers. Let me know if that somewhat makes sense. Or,should I adjust accordingly.
As of now, the battery is at full SOC.
I will...
So, as I'm researching and finding documents on the forum, I'm going to post the links in this thread.

Hello all.
I have been wanting to build my own Solar System for a while.
I stumbled upon this form and Will's youtube videos thus joining.
I can't wait to dive in.
Please correct me on this.
If charging a 12v or 24V battery configuration, does this switch adjust the Amp the charger will deliver to the battery?
example:
Charging a 12V battery @ 50% . Will it only deliver 75A/2= 37.5A?
Hell Just John.
I appreciate the feedback. A member was selling one on here. SO, I honestly bought it. ? Hoping I don't pull close to that Ah, maybe the fan won't come one and last me a little while.
My question is:
Can I go with a smaller BMS although the inverters input is 12V 200A?
Thank you.
To run a long term load on the same 4S battery, I charged them back up to 14.6V.
My second test was using my refrigerator.
The spec:
Inverter used with the same cheap wires:
These are the number I got as far as capacity goes for this set of battery.
Time: 29:12 Hours
Amp: 9.7
KW: 2.45 per...
Here is a video I just found. There are some good information in here as well. Most of it has been covered.
He does mention about the two pins that needs to be bridged @ (17:35)
Hello all.
I purchased this Daly from a member here to build a battery pack. (initially 280Ah, but had to switch to 230Ah) long story.
This Daly didn't come with a manual. I searched as well, but could not find anything pertaining to the numbers below.
Daly BMS specs:
What came in the box...
Second Edit: I have not done much “heat“ testing, but I run thick 4/0 wires for 155 amps for a coupe of minutes, and those wires do not get hot. If I dropped this down to 2 AWG, I think it would. 2 AWG is not rated for that much amperage
= At the time of testing the Pack, that was the only...
Finally getting somewhere with my issue.
I had to remove the sensor and resolder them to the actual pins. So far I'm getting a reading.
Next,
Should I select from the standard parameters listed here?
Or adjust the values based on overkill's manual?
Now that I'm getting more into this endeavor...., I learn as I go. I just did a quick search before asking I and it seems the Victron shunt is the to go. I would use that for my permanent setup, but is there something else out there I can use for testing .... Like these? Or something you...
To add to this. I went ahead and made some busbars with some copper pipes I had laying around.
1/4" pipes flatten down. Not my best handy work at the first attempt.
I ran on those busbars on the batteries for 29+ hours to power the refrigerator. I checked in on them from time to time while...
Hello smoothjoe.
I did download most of these needed information from the resource tab. I just have to incorporate them now.
I appreciate your feedback.
Than you.
Hello all.
What will be the best setup for these 6 solar panels?
Solar panels information:
6 x 100w
Vmp: 18.9V
Voc: 22.5V
Imp: 5.3A
Isc: 5.7A
I was thinking to arrange my panels into three parallel strings of 2 panels in series.
(2x 22.5V)= 45.0V @ 5.3A x3 parallel strings = 45V @ 15.9A
Or...
Curious question to ask . I was reviewing the state of charge in the BMS setting. I noticed the voltage per percentage is inverted with the number listed here.
Should I correct these?
Hello all. I'm bringing this topic back to life.
I have quite a few pieces of copper pipes laying around from some home projects. I also read the "Smash it Flat" to make some copper Bus Bars for your batteries.
My question is, is this an approachable route to go as well?
Example of battery...
Hello all.
As the title states. I'm about to pull the trigger on these cells to start a small Solar Project.
I want to build a 12v system with these cells and maybe parallel a second.
What would be a recommended BMS to go with?
System:
Solar panels:
4 x 100w
Vmp: 18.9V
Voc: 22.5V
Imp: 5.3A...
Hello everyone,
I need some help please.
I've wired up this system and it was working for a few days just to check the MPPT.
I've disconnected everything to place it in a secured box and now the MPPT won't turn on.
Battery: 4s 120 amp
MPPT: Victron 100/20
See pictures below.
Voltage on the...
Yes, the MC4's I have are rated for 30A.
I also have on hand one of those inline fuses as well rated at 30A
2S3P will be my route.
The Max input on this SCC is 145V @ 40A.
Thanks.
As of now, this box build is just a portable system I'm playing with. I plan on donating it to a old camper friend.... The max he might pull from there is a coffee pot and basic phone charging etc...
And yes, the way I see this little build going sets room for upgrade and updated devices for my...
Hello everyone.
I picked up the AIMS charger from a member here.
What would be the suggested charge profile to select?
I was more leaning towards the LiFePo4 setting vs. AGM.
Thank you.
So I just checked the SOC and I went from fully charged to 60% overnight with nothing connected to the box. Could it be that the Bluetooth has some sort of drain on there?
I will proceed and buy the shunt and take it from there as well to see what else can be tweaked.
Just a quick update here for those pro's out there that can shed some light here.
I connected and charged my 12v battery with this charger. I left it connected overnight to see how well it will hold up. It worked flawlessly.
The battery was charged using the "Gel" option. 14v charging and 13.7v...
So sorry to bring this one back up from the past. I didn't want to re-post what I already have here. Due to a life changing event ,my project was put on hold. I'm slowly getting back on my feet and want to continue my endeavor in Solar.
I've now come the conclusion to change my setup to a 24...
I've never seen this happened before. I also noticed the discharge parameter is set to off. It will not turn on even after a reboot. Reinstalled the app .... Very weird behavior.
Yes, after connecting to the battery for less than 10 minutes, the charger did hit the float stage.
No, there are no loads on the battery. I had it sitting and wanted to charge it up.
Thanks for your response smoothJoey.
