Severe capacity degradation of 280Ah cells -- warning!

Yes, I kept them. The only issue was the missing 42Ah capacity below the advertised 280Ah. I got a large percentage partial refund (from Paypal and the credit card company).

Severe capacity degradation of 280Ah cells -- warning!

I just read pages and pages of one star comments on this fraudulent seller -- most of the comments were after when I purchased. AliExpress knows this is a fraudulent seller ripping off multiple dozens of people!

Severe capacity degradation of 280Ah cells -- warning!

Yes! Thank you. I just checked under a black top that was peeling off one of the cells. There was a square area scratched out on the aluminum. I took a magnifying glass out and was able to make out "770Wh" that the fraudulent seller missed scratching out. That agrees with the capacity that I...

Severe capacity degradation of 280Ah cells -- warning!

Paypal update : Paypal partially refunded correctly for all 8 cells purchased through Paypal. Glad this is resolved. No need for Small Claims Court.

Can you charge very discharged LiFePo4 cells temporarily at higher voltages?

An EBC-A40L tester would allow you to charge all the cells in less than 5 days. I bought one for $200 new and it arrived in 3.5 weeks.

Severe capacity degradation of 280Ah cells -- warning!

AliExpress prevents buyers from leaving feedback on orders brought into dispute, even after the dispute is closed. I just tried. That is great for fraudulent sellers on AliExpress as the buyers can't warn others of any fraud that they experienced through AliExpress. Contrast that with...

Severe capacity degradation of 280Ah cells -- warning!

    That's possible. The measured capacity was between 237 and 241 Ah for all 16 cells. The cell serial numbers varied wildly. I list them below. Box 1 6800226694767423 6482651087673455 6673431666920052 6198459772849641 Box 2 6743112954884302 6747030164596946 6686016633636818 6050477741277706...

Severe capacity degradation of 280Ah cells -- warning!

Paypal paided using my checking account at Etrade instead of a credit card, which is also an option. I am assuming 'stop payment' won't work since the check was 'settled'. Paypal is liable for their Paypal Protection Program, which supposedly covers seller fraud.

Excellent information in that video about LiFePO4 cell degradation. Thanks for posting it.

Severe capacity degradation of 280Ah cells -- warning!

Yeah, that is easier to understand. The specifications from the manufacturer specify the cell lifetime as 4000 cycles. The capacity degradation vs. cycle curve goes out to 3500 cycles -- if you linearly extrapolate to 4000 cycles, 80% capacity degradation will be reached. I based my...

Severe capacity degradation of 280Ah cells -- warning!

^ "If people start holding Paypal accountable for their Paypal Protection Program (which covers fraud) and hold them to justice in small claims court when they side with a fraudulent seller (in just this case, about $1450 dollars of fraud), then Paypal will actually have to take responsibility...

Severe capacity degradation of 280Ah cells -- warning!

Thanks. Yeah, if you do linear approximations to the curve when calculating the area under the curve, then 70% lifetime Ah degradation is what I get also. The lifetime Ah calculation assumes the cells capacity degrade according to spec. Since the cells failed capacity testing, I would not...

Severe capacity degradation of 280Ah cells -- warning!

40/280 = 0.143. 1C is 280A for a 280Ah cell. Will Prowse had a video from Jan 2021 about 280Ah cells from the same seller but different cell manufacturer. I tested Varicore cells. Will tested Eve cells. Will didn't experience the capacity fraud with the Eve cells like I did with the...

Severe capacity degradation of 280Ah cells -- warning!

I found this gem of a website giving very detailed advise on how to take Paypal to small claims court. http://www.screw-paypal.com/resources/small_claims_court.html

Severe capacity degradation of 280Ah cells -- warning!

Agreed. Exactly. An update -- Paypal improperly closed a dispute on 4 of the cells and kept the dispute open on the other 4 cells. All the cells have the same capacity degradation issues, so that alone shows incompetent inconsistency. Since Paypal is supporting fraud and false advertising...
