Does anyone know why Victron charge controllers price just went WAY down? I recently purchased a 100/50 for over $300 and now I see it is on Amazon for $184!! Will these prices last? New pricing strategy? New models coming out?
I found out that you can cut off the batteries from the app.
If you see this screen then there is currently no electron flow:
This screen means electrons can flow:
The default is no flow (had to figure that out the hard way).
I have no information, but if there is one in the works he needs to work on his marketing skills because he keeps recommending other brands and suppliers of batteries :)
This should do the trick unless you need more than 40 amps.

Nobody knows how this will play out, but it does not look good right now. 35 million people are locked down in quarantine. Why would China lock down 35 million people if only 100 people died? Did you see the videos of people collapsing on the streets? China is all about making money, but...

Yesterday I changed my settings to 27.8 bulk and 27.8 float as recommended by Lion-energy. It worked! It charged right up at full charging watts and stopped charging when full. I will keep testing and report back if anything changes, but right now I consider it solved.
Ok, so I got it up and running and the bluetooth app connected without any issues. When I tried to change the low temperature cut off in the app it wouldn't take when I hit submit and went back and checked it. I played with it for a while and figured out you have to hit submit 3 times for it...
Yesterday I ran my batteries down to around 25% of capacity in my RV using some power tools. This morning after the sun was well up I went out to check on the battery state of charge and charging watts. In full sun it was only getting 34 watts of solar from 1000 watts of panels. I thought it...
On Will's website he links to some blueys on Aliexpress. (https://www.mobile-solarpower.com/diy-lifepo4-solar-battery.html) I don't remember him doing a video on Blueys capacity, but maybe I missed it.
"New Battery Cells:
Aliexpress (cheapest price around! but slow shipping. I buy most of my...
Got my batteryhookup BMS in the mail yesterday, no instructions, no wiring diagram and no video. Oh well, it should be straightforward. Like Will said, it only has 2 10 awg wires for the pos, and 2 for the neg so what is that like 60 amps max at 12V? (the online charts for amps for AWG are all...
Landon, GREAT topic! my wife and I have a couple ebikes and we use them when we camp off grid in our RV. I have contemplated a solar recharge strategy, but have not explored the possibilities yet so I can't be of much help to your scenario. My current strategy is to have several batteries all...
Thanks Bill, I will check everything but the only variable between the 34 watts and the 375 watts was me turning off and then on the LV2424 so that is my prime suspect right now. Also, I have three smaller panels on a different charge controller that is measured by same shunt meter as the...
I would make very sure that
This ↑↑↑↑ IMO if you can't connect in series they are pretty worthless beyond a small 12v setup (in which case you probably would not be on this forum). I'm still learning solar but I have realized that higher voltages are the only way to get anything done.
OK, so this morning before sunrise I turned off the solar panels on my RV and ran some loads so at 1310 hrs the batteries were at 38% (26.4v). I then turned on the panels and the LV2424 fired up and started charging the batteries at 430 watts so I went back in the house for my covid-telework...
Strange things happen during the holiday shopping season. I have had them deliver to the wrong house more than once, and I have seen the tracking showing as delivered when it was not, only to have it show up the next day.
Bill you are absolutely right. I hereby withdraw my earlier comment, 12 volt is legit for many scenarios especially RV solar. I would stay with 12v in my RV but for a specific reason I need more power. I need to stay off this forum when I have a few.
As I have learned in a couple other threads, you can't rely on the MPPSOLAR all-in-one units to cut off the batteries before they discharge below the safe level. So in order to protect the batteries you need a good BMS or a battery protect that will cut off the batteries independent of the...
I found out when I was testing my setup that it does the same thing. When it shuts off the power, I have to manually unhook all leads, count to 10 then reconnect the leads to get it going again. I guess it is more of a catastrophic doomsday shut off device than it is a hands-off voltage...

I messaged the seller to see if this will cut off the power/charging when the temperature gets below freezing. From the listing it appears that is what it does, but I am not 100%. I will post what they say...
So I am still trying to find the best settings on the LV2424 to fully charge my batteries. As previously discussed, at around 40% state of charge (SOC) my LV2424 would significantly reduce the charging watts and the sun would start going down before the batteries were full. The smoke from the...
Thanks Steve, looks like Will is WAY ahead of me on this (as usual). So I guess I will wait until he tests the one the DailyBMS company claimed had low temp protection. The interesting thing about the listing I linked to is that this particular BMS seems to have a sensor that their other...
I am trying to figure out why the relay is attached to the 24/12 converter? I would think the converter connects to the BMS and then to the 12v fuse block.
I contacted Lion-energy and asked what settings I should put for my bulk and float, and they said set both to 27.8. I will try that next, but am not optimistic.
Look what mail-lady (mail-person?) Alejandra brought me today. It has 3 10AWG wires soldered in already. Google tells me that is equivalent to a 5AWG wire, so about 150 Amps.
Upon closer inspection I see an issue with the middle wire. How does the middle wire conduct negative return power? I don't see any metal connection???? How does this work?
How does that work???
In this diagram it shows a relay hooked up, but it appears it is always on. It that safe and prudent? Is there any fire danger there? Maybe I should add a switch and only turn on the relay when I want to use inverter power?
Here is the relay I have on order:
I had 2 different MPP Solar units fail, one was throwing an error code upon installation and the other one started putting out 220 volts instead of 110 volts, 9 months after purchase. I bought from Ian in Utah (https://usamppsolar.com) and each time he immediately sent out a new unit before I...
So every time you want to buy something on the internet you set up an online store and buy it from yourself? Interesting strategy, but what if you have a complaint with the service or the product? What if it turned to blows between the buyer and seller? It would be like this:
Got my LV2424 all hooked up and running in my RV. I have the AC output running through a GFI breaker. When I plug in my AC tester it is showing open ground, is that normal? Is there anyway to ground the LV2424 in an RV?
Thanks Capt Bill, interesting results. I will do some testing and see what happens with my setup. I just ordered 8 new 272AH cells so my current strategy of 27.8 bulk and 27.8 float as recommended by Lion Energy might not be the best for my new cells.
When you connect in parallel for the 2400 watt model (for example) does that mean you hook up all A/C loads to one of the units outputs and can draw 4800 watt from that one units output? What about the solar, all panels hook up to one units solar input?
Edit: nevermind, I figured it out
I was testing mine yesterday after reading this thread and sure enough at about 40% of battery charge the charging amps go way way down. I have a separate charge controller for 3 smaller panels I have, so at least that one fully charges the batteries (but it takes a long time). If I can't...
Thanks for that link, good stuff although my head hurts after reading it :).
From the link:
So I read this as when using the LV2424 inverter, the AC neutral (white wire) should be connected (bonded) to the DC ground (vehicle chassis) but when plugged into shore power, it should not. Am I on...
Does anyone on here have this 48V 100 ah Weize server rack battery? Compared to other server rack batteries, the price seems too good to be true. That and free shipping, apparently from a US warehouse? What's the catch...
I bought 6 used panels and they are testing at 65v and 11.5 amps so volts times amps is 750 watts or so. But these are 190 watt panels. What am I doing wrong, or are they bad panels? All 6? Here is a video of my test:
Maybe I'm not reading this right, but are the solar panels wired directly to the inverter? Are there batteries and a solar charge controller in your setup? What do you mean when you say "into the grid?"
