Desperately needed help with lost charger for Bluetti 150

That's great news, Harwood. Congrats! Yes, Bluetti Support could have stated their requirements in a more practical way. (Hint: How many customers can measure the Amps delivered at the charge port?) But we managed to read between the lines to solve the problem. :) I have a couple of...

Desperately needed help with lost charger for Bluetti 150

Uggh! That was, at first consideration, a lame response from Bluetti support, but perhaps there's just a loss in translation from Mandarin to English. My interpretation, giving them the benefit of the doubt, is that they suspect the extension cables you've tried thus far were of insufficient...

Desperately needed help with lost charger for Bluetti 150

    You're welcome, Harwood. My 12-24V step-up converter has a rated output of 240W ( = 24V * 10A). But at its 12V input, that means it has to pull 20A (12V * 20A = 240W). See: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BKWG9N2/ The ONLY reason I'm using a DC-to-DC step-up converter is because my...

Desperately needed help with lost charger for Bluetti 150

Ouch! The Bluetti AC charger can pull "7.5A Max" at 120VAC = 900 Watts. So even that 700W inverter I linked above, would be insufficient. 900 Watts is akin to a small coffee brewer or microwave oven. You would need a 1000W inverter, to avoid running it full out = more money, heavier cables...

Desperately needed help with lost charger for Bluetti 150

Hi Harwood, OK, I need more than the DC info you provided from the Bluetti display when using its AC charger. There are some inefficiences between Watts consumed by the AC charger vs. Watts actually naking it into the Bluetti. In other words, if the Bluetti is receiving 466 Watts, you can be...

Desperately needed help with lost charger for Bluetti 150

I'm stumped, but I can tell you that, in my experience, Bluetti support is slow but sure. Patience wins the day. (They need more people, but who doesn't?) Anyway, it might take two weeks for the first reply to an email and then you can go back and forth with them fairly quickly, if you have...

Desperately needed help with lost charger for Bluetti 150

Hi, I think you're onto the cause of your problem. Test the extension cable with a different cigarette lighter socket (in another vehicle). If it works OK there, you might need a new socket in the Vanagon. Otherwise, replace that extension cable with a different design, but keep in mind...

    Solar Panel hookup on EB240

See Forbisher's comment #2. With a 2s2P array, your input voltage to the EB240 charge controller will not come anywhere near the 68V maxiumum, but you will still get the same Wattage coming out of the four panels as you would if they were in series. You could also aim one series pair about 5...

Desperately needed help with lost charger for Bluetti 150

Question: What is the minimum input voltage required by the MPPT charger of the Bluetti AC50s? Answer: 14V (up to 40V) Problem: Even with the engine running, the alternator will not keep the voltage at or above 14V while under load. Use the 12V car charger, instead. ? Or...

    Over-paneling Bluetti EB150

I cannot recall details of Hobotech's testing of the EB150's inverter, but you might refer to that video to see if he had determined an instantaneous maximum output, hopefully greater than your 1150W need. I like the idea of multiple units (2x EB150) vs. a single, larger unit, not only for...

    Over-paneling Bluetti EB150

Hi, You might be able to deploy a folding plastic table for elevating the panels above the height of the railing, oriented verically, with perhaps a strip of 2x2 pine, C-clamped atop the table, lengthwise, against which to rest the bottom edge of the panels, propped up against the wall. No...
