No I am not a troll (me a troll? that's the first time it happens... it's funny), I just want to understand the better how solar panels works by making the right decision in my strange situation.

Thanks at least you provided a reason in your suggestions...
Yes I know it is an old thread, but I think it is useful to close a circle.
Here the feedback from the manufacturer representative Amy about orientation for the EVE LF280K
Orientation does not matter.
Just got a "waitaminute"moment, I had to post it.
I think I solved the above dilemma... to make the Lynx Power In perfectly symmetric.
Let`s say the rest of the system is connected to the right of the Lynx Power In
Example with 3 battery packs (my case) A, B and C
2 --> A+
3 --> B+
4 --> C+
6...
Yes, I took two years of Chinglesh when I was on college.
anyway
There is no liquid dancing free in a LiFEPO4, you can orient it and mount as you wish.
Just make sure to not create pressure spots in the battery case which could compromise the insulation.
Many many thanks for the reply! Exactly what I needed.
Oh yeah regarding the batteries packs, I was meaning 3 parallel of 16 cells in series, absolutely...16s3p, sorry my mistake.
So now let's go on the bus bar desing:
1) Copper bar with no nickel plated still okay?
2) I need 350A continuous...
Hi,
my life is a mess. I just installed solar panels on the roof but the rest of the system is still work in progress....
It's a long story...
According to what I know solar panels act like current pumps, so it would be better for them to short + and - together to let the current flow...
In the LF280K product specification I have (LF280K-72174 version B, see attachment), there is nothing regarding the mounting orientation.
If it would be critical because of the electrolyte touching the plates, they surely would have drop a line in the document.
I mean they specified the clamping...
Used 1 month, I can't find any defect on it.
Reason for selling. Upgrade to the MK2 version.

World: please ask.
It is the first time I sell...
Thanks Sebanavilla!
You are temping me, the Lynx system is very practical and a piece of cake to install.
What is bothering me is the inferior performance compared with a proper designed bus bar system.
The batteries are all connected to the left Lynx power in box, and all the rest is on the...
Hello,
first post in this amazing forum.
I am an EE addicted to TEA, but I am trying to get up to speed with batteries and solar system.
I ordered the following for my home in USA:
#48 EVE 280AH, planning to use them as 48V system 3Px16S
#3 Victron Energy MPPT Smartsolar 450-100
#2 Victron...
Thank you both again for the help! really appreciate!
Designing with your help makes fun now!
Okay back to the basics, the two VE Quattro are designed to pull max 16KW cont and 40KW peak.
So in a 48V batt I will pull max about 333A cont and 833A peak.
That's why I am leaning to about 400A...
Thanks!
they are wired and the panels connectors are safe!
You guys are pulling in the direction of leaving them open....
I still think that the panels will suffers less in a shorted circuit condition...
ohh, I have to admit I wanted to hear as many opinions as possible... so forgive me...
I know, but in the very screenshot above the Busbars options has still a diagonal connection....
This is a little confusing. The text list has two separate options for diagonal connection (the first) and the Busbars (the last one).
So I would assume, if you go with Busbars you do not need to be...
Yeah... I will buy a Lynx smart shunt, and two power in and a DC distrib module....
One power in for the 3 batteries coming in with fuses hack (I abandoned the circuit breaker idea).
The other power in for the 3 Smart Solar charger.
The DC dist. for the two Quattro inverter....
It's money...
I finally started to play with the Victron toys I bought from you almost a year ago.
This epic delay is due to the solar companies which are struggling to understand what a Victron ESS system is.
It's basically a DC coupled solar ESS system, no feed into the grid.
I have a Lynx power in, shunt a...
Settings:
Observed:
Despite "Startup DifVol" 20mV > "DifVol" 5mV, balancer is still active
Expected:
Balancer stopped in "Complete" state
Proposed solution:
RunVol and StopVol should be considered only if "Startup DifVol" < "DifVol"
For reference here the App version I am using:
I just sent...
My DIY batteries packs need a DIY BMW.
I have a fantastic Victron ESS system with a Lynx Shunt that provides SoC and fire basics alarms.
I think it is now time to
- monitor voltage at each cell
- (nice to have) do active/passive balancing
the DIYBMS looks sexy, but according to my research I...
Thanks Samsonite! I appreciate you staying with me in my solar adventure.
Regarding bus bars I will take the https://www.onlinemetals.com and done.
Na, it works for sure but I am looking for a breaker with a switch so I can disconnect the battery if I need to.
On this topic, I see two...
