Is anyone using this JBD SP8S004 8S 24v 150A BMS? Seems to use the same app as the tried and true JBD BMS but I haven't found anything in the search.

I'm waiting on my 8 cells to arrive and looking to build an 8S 280ah 24v pack.

I'm building the same. BMS turned up today. No instructions. Still waiting for the 280Ah cells.

Any luck with this BMS?

I'm looking at a similar 8s 24v 280ah setup, and considering what BMS to buy.

Hi, I did connect my JBD 150 amp with a 4S configuration, and everything seems to work well. I got the Bluetooth controller with it as well and that works seamlessly.

How hard have you pushed it? I'm wondering if it's real 150-200A or chinese amps

I have top balanced and really haven’t tested it yet, however i plan to this weekend so i will report back here on how it goes.

My inverter crapped out on me soni couldn't give it a good test. I was at 2000 Watts for awhile and 155 amps, and everything was fine. I will report back when i get my inverter working again.

How high is the software letting you set the overcurrent protection?

You can set it as high as you want. I have set it for 175amps as i may peak there from time to time.

Ok, got the inverter back and going through a test now. Running steady at 115 amps, no problems at all with rhe BMS. Had it at 175 amps for awhile, and the heat sink was hot to the touch. I think if you had a small fan there would be no issues. For me, i need 160 amps for my microwave for short spurts, so it is doing what i expected. For the second hour of my test i am going to try to get it closer to 150 amo draw and let you know. I love the bluetooth connectivity and it works really well. Very happy so far. I think my BMS wores a bit light for the job (2 x 4 AWG) so i will be increasing those to 2/0.

45 degrees celcius. Well below the limits recommended by Overkill solar. I think i could have reduced some heat with heavier cables. I am still going with my capacity test...280 ah Eve cells. I am using default settings for the BMS and it shows me at 0 capacity now, while the cells are still over 3V. I need to do some tweaking in the settings after this test is done. The cells look like they will deliver rated capacity.

Just as an FYI, cells can be over 3 volts and be less than 2%.

3.0 to 2.5 is approximately 5 amp hours. 3.4 to 3.65 about the same.

I hear you, but i had way more than that left on these EVE cells. The last 30 min of the test showed 0 capacity. Great cells...delivered full capacity. I am very happy with the cells and the JBD 150a BMS. I will be upgrading the wire gauge though, i undersized it.

I have the 150 amp JBD on order. But 150 is actually the highest I will draw for my use.

The Eve cells are very consistent, 5 amp hours below 3.0, and 5 amp hours above 3.4. That's measured discharge below 3.0, and measured charge in above 3.4v, I'd have to look at the data, but I think discharge until they hit 3.4v is even less.

Ok. I guess you are probably right, 5amps times 4 cells so 20 ah total. That is very close to what i achieved below 3V. I found a .1V difference in the cells as well.

Received my cells yesterday and got straight into the build. BMS is doing its thing, no issues.
