I purchased a Daly BMS LiFepo4 8S 24v 100A Model J10A-GA28 on ebay that arrived yesterday. I purchased it based on its following description:

This BMS is suitable for LiFePo4, 100 A, 8 cell battery bank only.

The 3.2 V cells must be top balanced before connecting the BMS.
Blue lead labeled "B" is a battery negative terminal connection
Black lead labeled "P" is a negative out to inverter or negative in from solar or other power source.
Wire leads are #8 AWG with M6 terminals.
Basic electrical knowledge required to connect BMS to the battery bank

This was the only Daly BMS that seemed to be custom tailored specifically to my build. There is no mention of its model number of this listing Perhaps for a reason), but it is in small letters on one of the two labels. I took it on faith that this would be new with original packaging and wiring documentation, as there were no other descriptions about its features. I had been hesitating about buying an ISDT BattGo BG-8S Battery Meter to go into my build pending discovery of what connectors might be on this BMS that might offer any better options. The fact that it is not a "SMART" Daly BMS seemed like a good choice given the reviews I have seen about issues with the higher amp ones that Daly sells.

Well what I received certainly is not "SMART" (a good thing?). Apart from the #8 AWG with M6 terminals and connector with 8 balancing leads there are no other connections to it. It was shipped without any packaging or documentation. I needed to verify if it was indeed what I needed or not. I see there is another Daly 18650 BMS LiFepo4 8S 24v 100A Model which I am sure I don't want. Naturally I googled the model of what I received. Nowhere to be found. Naturally I asked the seller who just blew me off. I doubt he knows anything more than I do about what this model is. I also doubt English is his native language. Dealing with him is futile. Out of principle I have put in for a return through PayPal's Purchase Guarantee with the argument that I shouldn't have to pay for return shipping given the fact that the seller lied about it being "new". He admitted he bought it directly from the manufacturer - eg, he obviously sourced this from a bulk purchase and just stuffed it in a bag and sent it to me, sans documentation. That is not what I paid for.

I speculate that perhaps this was from an inhouse OEM order as a possible reason the specs are so elusive.

Frankly though, apart from being a little annoyed this device might be fine. I assume that as my battery pack will be at 100A, I suppose it would be adequate. It is obviously authentic and I trust that it falls into the spec of my build. I certainly can tie in an ISDT BattGo BG-8S Battery Meter for monitoring the top/bottom balancing if I want to - else just check voltages along the way and routinely to verify the BMS operation, albeit less convenient.

I paid a total of $76 w/shipping plus the $11 optional 3-Year SquareTrade Warranty (Electronics $50-75) just in case.

SHOULD I KEEP IT ?

I cannot find anything about this model nor any spec sheet for it. I don't know where else to look.
I hate relying solely on faith in the brand and the sellers word for it.

Would I do better with something else?

I am not familiar with the Daly brands and can't offer any insight into the particular BMS you have purchased. That being said, I do believe you should send this back and not use it. The BMS is your battery's last line of defense against over/undercharging etc... Don't rely on an item you "got a screaming eBay deal" on to protect your battery. It very well might be a legit overstock resell item but are you comfortable taking the chance?

I have what looks identical to yours, but mine also has a temp sensor. Model number is obviously different. I suppose it is working ... cells are always really close and the device never gets more than slightly warm. I have no desire to add more stress to my life and monitor individual cells.

But, I should add, I paid extra for a "pre-built" setup that was supposed to be matched cells and that included this BMS. I have had zero issues with any of it.

Send it back, low voltage protect is set at 2.2V. As this not a Smart BMS, you have no way of changing protection parameters.

At a minimum, I'd suggest any Daly be a Smart BMS with bluettooth connection (but the BT add on) and comes with a temp sensor.

SOLVED !!!
(I hope)

Having reviewed Will's video and other posts I have decided that I will go with an OVERKILL 8s BMS 100a LifePo4 Battery Management System for 24v DIY Batteries, Programmable, Bluetooth Included. - M6 Threaded Terminals (Standard). It looks like it is on back order (thanks to Will's endorsement), so I just put in my order.

Whaaaat?!!! Documentation and support? Like a real company?!!!

They're spoiling me. (I hope this product puts Daly out of business) - I will update my progress when it arrives.
