Nice! Two weeks after I bought the Growatt 3000w LVM-ES... The way it always goes. I'll be happy with mine when I receive it.
Anyone know the original maker of the Midnite All In One? I assume it's not their own design.

Awesome! A friend and I were commenting recently about how Midnite was getting left behind and entering "OK Boomer" territory. Really glad to see they are staying in the game. Although I don't know why they can't put a software patch out for the Classic to handle LFP.

The new Midnite DIY series products. Ryan does an unboxing.

I just realized the Inverters are High Frequency ! Whoops !
Well so are Sma and some models of Growatt which are both great. I think what's is happening is that high frequency inverter technologies are evolving to be better

AND......

A MPPT that can work from 100v to 600v :

Midnite has been busy!

Excellent news! I always liked Midnite Solar, glad to see they're keeping up with development. In this field it's not necessarily a good thing to be first to market.

It's unfortunate they had to resort to making the all in ones in China. One of their biggest distinguishing features of their previous hardware was the made in USA label. Are those all in ones going to be much different than what is already available?

Yes it is,
well based on their reputation I hope they are since there are alot of Chinese Competition and other brands emerging.
But do understand their decision I just hope the product stands up it the midnite name.But.it.can definitely be a game. Changer

So long as this isn't the beginning of the end.

I used to work for a contract manufacturer, and big-name computer companies would design their own PC motherboards, arrange contracts for component pricing, and have the boards manufactured. Might be in China, but their own design, test, quality standards. They were the "OEM".

Then came "ODM", where big-name company visits a trade show in Taiwan and says, "I like that one. Put my name on it." So you get a desktop PC with with big-name logo containing motherboard developed by someone else, or an entire laptop developed by someone else. But it has the brand name you know and trust.

We had a lot of Dell computers around the company. At one point they made a deal to built many of Big Name's (non-ODM) computers, so they also started deploying those internally. That was reversed in a few months, back to Dell which were reliable (except for capacitor plague which burned everybody.)

If Midnight is going re-brand an off the shelf inverter so they can compete in the market, that doesn't add much value.
When a $600 or $800 (street-price) electronic device fails, you don't repair it. Just remove and drop in a replacement. All that's needed to support it is warehouses on both coasts and next-day delivery by FedEx.

From what I've seen of the user documentation they are providing it is certainly a new high bar - so now we have to see if the product quality matches it. Would be something for Will to review!

This is actually a huge disappointment. They are low quality relabeled units.

The charge controller is sold by many distributors already:

And the inverter charger has tons of issues, and horrible reviews on every site I see it on. I tested one recently and in my opinion, it was garbage. Check out what others have said on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Renogy-3500W...renogy+inverter+charger&qid=1625756434&sr=8-4

I would avoid both like the plague. I had respect for midnite and their previous component selection, but this is just silly.

Well, that is sad.

Wow, that's crazy.. their MNMPPT60DIY is EXACTLY that! This is sad.

Now get one in hand, crack it open and have a look at what's inside & who made it.
I have also seen many devices use similar or identical "cases" much like PC's but with quite different guts internally.
Appearance is not really much of an indicator. A possible clue but not an certainty.

That having been said, maybe a few remember the Wind Turbines that Midnite sold for "a little while", which well turned out to be... shall we say politely as "quite a dissapointment". That wasn't good.... that cost them a pile...

I can say that my Midnite Classic-200 has been a wonderful SCC and their E-Panels etc are Top Notch. I can also say they are very slow at R&D to Market and as such they are getting "Long in the Tooth" as other Tier-1 Companies are moving forward at a much faster rate.
