price too low? too good to be true?

I am planning to get 16 280 ah cells to build a bank, which seesm like it might be a bit bigger than I need and I saw thers on ebay sooo cheep.So what am I missing or do not understand about these cells I found on ebay? ( link below) I assume there is some reason why they are not what I would want but the price seems too good to be true... so what dont I understand

16 x169 = $2,704 Doesn't seem that cheap to me.

I looks to me Like they are being sold in sets of 8 aren't they? so I would only need 2 of sets of 8

It would cost more than 340$ to ship 16 cells and do customs. So either its not a clear listing (1EA), or its fake.

My friend does fraud prevention for a bank, and its amazing what people will believe. What do you think it costs to ship 80lb+ of cells from china?

Is a confusing title. Pretty sure that's the price per piece, maybe 8 are available. I would avoid it.

The vendor I go through on DHgate will normally price match. I've come to him with some of those too-good deals before, and he flat out told me there is absolutely no way some of the deals can be legitimate.

He broke down shipping costs and actual cell costs for me and told me that it's impossible for them to make money at some of those prices, and that they are most likely either a used / low grade cell, don't meet anywhere near the capacity spec, or are an outright scam. I was told that one of the "deals" I sent him was actually priced lower than he could get cells from the factory for. He's been very honest with me before, and I don't think he has a reason to lie.

I didn't do the cost math on your (OP's) cells specifically, so I don't know if it's a scam or not, but if the price is well below the market average, I can guarantee you it is, in fact, a scam.
