I can add I purchased 8 of the 105ah cells (matched grade A) from Amy for approximately $520 (slightly under) including shipping, taxes, and Alibaba fees in April. Well worth the money.

EVE really would rather not sell to us. Amy gets the cells from EVE, but has committed to buy a quantity each month. You will receive the test reports for each cell from EVE.

Message Amy on Alibaba chat and get a quote. You will be very satisfied with the quality, and will not receive bloated used cells, but you pay for it.

Thanks I just received a quote from AMY and will be placing order soon. I will also order the 8 of the 105ah. What BMS have you elected to use with these units? My current thought is to go in series for a 24vdc setup at 105ah. Or could parallel for 210ah at 12vdc. This is to be used as a Emergency solar generator for my Florida location during power outages. No real major current draws, but may need time of service for led lights, fans, and other low draw items for several days plus, as you never know. I have a 5kw generator for major appliances. I live on the Panhandle of Florida.

I like the JBD (Overkill) much better than the Daly. If at all possible, 24v is much preferred over 12v due to the wire size.

Also downloaded the Overkill JBD/users manual, the link for the android APK in the manual from June of 2021 apparently is not valid.
Any suggestion on the software APK as to perhaps a link.

I have the 8S 100A JBD BMS from both Overkill and the JBD store on Aliexpress. The JBD and the Overkill of the same voltage and current are pretty much identical, except that Overkill provides a bit longer set of balance leads, it has better B- and C- wires, and it appeared to me that Overkill had also done some calibration of the voltage readings. I still had to calibrate both of them to match up with my Fluke 175, but the Overkill was closer.

I think the Android APK file that is on the download page at Overkill is the most up-to-date (version 3.1.1026).

As far as I can tell, he does an excellent job keeping up with the latest APK.


Both Overkill and JBD use the same app. Overkill does a much better job of testing each BMS, but over all, JBD is just a much more reliable and consistent BMS than Daly. I own and have tested multiple models of both brands.

For my location AZ 85704, I have an 8/21/2021 order into Amy for 32 LF280K for $126/cell plus shipping $4743 grade A matched cells (additional $140 credit card fees for AMX). They were to ship (to me 50-60 calendar days) last week but EVE apparently had a delayed shipment now expected to arrive this coming Monday. This was Friday morning status.

That is $148.21 per cell or the equivalent of $592.87 for 4.
I got a notification that the 32 cell purchase has shipped (it took about 20 days to actually ship due to a delay from EVE). Amy provided the capacity data as well as pictures that you can find in the attached spreadsheet.

I then did a cell data sort from Min to Max , and paired the cells starting with the lowest and highest to create pairs and then repeated 16 times. the resulting in this final capacity estimate for the now 16 pairs.

The driver for loss of capacity due to cell mismatch is the lowest capacity cell which in the group of 32 was 0.64% below the average but now after MIN-MAX matching is only 0.03% corresponding to 0.186 Amp-hr! . The factory matching of the original 32 is within 1.878 Amp-hr so this process using 32 cell for 16S resulted in a 10:1 improvement in capacity matching. This might arguably be the best case where factory matching reduces dispersion resulting in a uniform distribution rather than Gaussian. This is the distribution of the 32 cells.

Here is what the MIN-MAX pairing distribution looks like. TWT how stable this pairing remains. Regardless it shows exceptional promise, making concern about cell matching a nonissue for large arrays.

Using the factory capacity data from EVE, this balancing procedure is a piece of cake where I can jump right to step #3 after top balancing Step #1 . This will reduce concerns about charging and discharging with uncompressed cells. With an active balancer, you can even just bring the 16S stack up to a 3.6V equivalent voltage (perhaps even 3.55 of lower) and let the active balancer bring the cells into SOC/Voltage agreement

That works out to $150 per cell, with shipping, plus the cost of the 4bms. Then I discovered that there is a new domestic supplier operating 45 miles from my home and selling EVE lf280n for exactly the same price, But such is life. I may go get some of those cells once I return home. On the road, atm. From Amy, I received full testing data on Friday, and confirmation that the cells are all packaged and heading to the port. All cells reportedly are testing at a minimum of 288, up to 291, and are ir matched to within 1 milliohm. I bought twice as many cells as I need, and plan to build several 12v packs, and keep the lowest two packs, and sell the highest two packs. If jbd permits parallel connection, I plan to make a 12v560ah pack for myself, with the option of converting to 24v in the future. I travel full time, in a yurt, with a jewelry workshop, and I really do not need an 1120ah beast battery. Battery will need to be loaded and unloaded up to ten times a year. I had hoped to resell my cells/packs locally, but with a local distributor in town, I will definitely need to sell them as packs, and not as cells. Test results in screen cap below. I have mentioned Basen (and it is in the title) in many posts here and that they have matched EVE LF280 batteries domestically for less than buying from some vendors in China. Another user on here just received 8 cells from the same vendor at my suggestion. He is thrilled with them as I was with mine. Mine arrived in a week, his took a little longer, about 2 weeks. Packed two to a box, perfect cells, and load tested to meet their spreadsheet provided from EVE.

You still deal with China. They can sell out of their Shenzhen location or out of the US warehouse. They might have also warehoused elsewhere as well.

Like with the other vendors, use the chat function which will get you into sales. I worked with Emily and another user here got someone named Violet...doesn't matter who you get. Tell them you are interested in the EVE LF280 batteries in their CA warehouse.
 
OK guys...huge news...I asked Basen for clarification on what they shipped me. I have to say that Basen has been very communicative throughout the process. What happened next astounded me.

1. I am being told these batteries are identified on the QRC properly as what they are, LF280 model, not N, K, or alphabet soup. She provided a spec sheet for the LF280. Shows they were designed in 3/18, but she says they were made 6/24/21.

2. She said the date code is no longer interpretable. I suspect EVE knows what the code interprets to, but is not made public.

3. drum roll.....to further prove what she says I was sent, she sent me a section of a spreadsheet including the cell I had given her the QRC for.

She shared this section of the spreadsheet with the arrow pointing to the cell I had given her the QRC for. The header is in Chinese, so you brainiacs can figure out what the other columns tell us. I assume the first column is the amperage, i.e. 291.9221. She says this spreadsheet is straight from EVE, presumably provided with the shipment.

4, The boxes were labeled XX/100. She gave me the FULL spreadsheet which shows the complete order was for 2000 cells. So, Basen bought 2000 cells, and then tested and repackaged 200 of them and sent them to the CA warehouse. The labeling on all of the boxes shows them being XX/100.

You can see the consistency in the cells based on actual EVE testing.

Has any other supplier provided the actual mfg testing data? I haven't seen anything like this before, but then I am a newbie.

I wish the sales people had accurate data on what they were selling. There has been a lot of consternation on my part due to the confusion on what I thought I was going to get vs. what I did get.

So, for whatever value it is, that is the current state of the world, as it turns.

02y=Eve C for cell, B for lithium, but it isn't a 71, it is a 66. I tried to find a 66 and was unable to. likewise, I couldn't figure out how to decipher date code "ACD".

LF280, LF280N, and LF280K are all from EVE, but two different factory codes.
LF280 uses code 02Y
LF280N, and LF280K use code 04Q
 
I suspect that is a real amount to ship heavy boxes in the US....let me put the pricing into context.

I can only compare my quotes:
Basen EVE China $1194
Basen EVE US $1216
Luyuan China $1246
Taico EVE China $1149
UNIS EVE China $1225
Bian EVE China $1210

So you can see that getting EVE in the US for $1216 competes with pretty much all the prices from China. Why would I want to pay $67 less for the cheapest other quote from a vendor I have no relationship with?

I will ask about the video. Don't know if that video is for these batteries, or just meant to be a sample of how they test.
Stay away from taico. They sell bad cells.
