JBD smart BMS displays wrong cell voltage

I have the same problem with a 20S / 200A JBD BMS, the voltage differences are at some cells 0.15V, that's not possible!
What is that for a junk BMS??

About half the cell voltage difference issues are due to bad connections. Clean every connection, use anti-corrosion grease if necessary and ensure all connections are good and tight. If any connection is warmer/hotter than other connections, consider that a red flag.

I have already checked, the connectors are new, no corrosion, everything fits perfectly. All the time trouble with this chinese shit...

Swap the cells around. Does the voltage difference follow the cell or stay with the balance lead?

Is cell balancing turned on? At what voltage does it turn on?

The JST-XH connector sometimes has loose conductors. Maybe the harness is faulty?

The part that plugs into the BMS usually has a bit of silicone or some caulk type substance to keep the wires from moving. If any jiggle then that might be contributing to the anomalous readings.

Definitely cannot recommend it, but one user said they went as far as directly soldering to the metal pins inside the plug. Good luck.

Not saying it’s the connector, but just hoping to mention as a common failure mode around.

In my case it was a faulty unit as I have another unit which didn't have the problem when connected to the same cells. I have just ordered 2 4s 200A one from Alibaba, I only need one and I am ok if one of them is faulty, it's about $70 a piece.

That has them.

Old news John.

I've been running 1026 for many months.

I wish this was the case, it is not. It cost us quite a bit more to get our app published and we had an in person visit from a Google Rep along with an interview and demonstration of our device to get it approved. All this while still in technically a pandemic.

While the fee may have been minimal, the process was not. Also it takes a very long time even for publishing updates. We have been waiting for our Temp/Volt/AMP calibration & SOC update (where it is possible to set max SOC to 50,60,70,80,90 or full) along with Low SOC (from 10 to 30%) and it is now entering the 2nd week. Hopefully it will be soon.

This has more to do with the fact Google treats BLE as a location device and hence a higher level of scrutiny.

We are currently trying to get the app published on IOS and the process is taking even longer. I would imagine getting something published on IOS as a Chinese company would be quite a bit more challenging. Even if it means getting it updated.

Lastly we noticed the xoaxing app does not have the warnings that Google now demands before scanning for devices, so there may be a compliance issue with their app with the latest Play Store rules.

Thanks for the report from the trenches. Good luck!
