I wish this was the case, it is not. It cost us quite a bit more to get our app published and we had an in person visit from a Google Rep along with an interview and demonstration of our device to get it approved. All this while still in technically a pandemic.
While the fee may have been minimal, the process was not. Also it takes a very long time even for publishing updates. We have been waiting for our Temp/Volt/AMP calibration & SOC update (where it is possible to set max SOC to 50,60,70,80,90 or full) along with Low SOC (from 10 to 30%) and it is now entering the 2nd week. Hopefully it will be soon.
This has more to do with the fact Google treats BLE as a location device and hence a higher level of scrutiny.
We are currently trying to get the app published on IOS and the process is taking even longer. I would imagine getting something published on IOS as a Chinese company would be quite a bit more challenging. Even if it means getting it updated.
Lastly we noticed the xoaxing app does not have the warnings that Google now demands before scanning for devices, so there may be a compliance issue with their app with the latest Play Store rules.
