Grounding Rod Necessary

Have installed a microhydro generator (3 phase) on my property. Received my charge controller but waiting on batteries.
Should I ground the chassis of the microhydro or the aluminum welded frame the the MH is bolted to ?
My tec cable has a ground, leave it off or wire cable back to the house ?

Well… usually, micro hydro systems are mounted near water… so, they are fairly well grounded…
Ensuring fault current can trip a fuse is important, so… maybe?

Can you touch the panel while you are on the ground? If you feel some juice flow through you, then you need to bond/earth the array.

The most confusing term used is grounding.

You are a lot more resistant to the flow of energy than a grounding rod and a copper grounding wire. If there is a bonded grounded rod, the electricity always goes to the path of least resistance.
Electricity does not follow the path of least resistance. It follows every available path and they all share the same voltage.

How I put in a grounding rod without using a hammer. I just use a little water. Start your grounding rod my hand. Push it down a few inches. Now remove it and fill the little hole with water. Work the rod back in the hole up and down. This time go a litter futher. Pull it all the way out and repeat. Each time working the rod just a little futher but not to far as it will get stuck .work it up and down adding water each time. Soon you can push it all the way very easily. We have a lot of clay and no rocks here and it works well everything.
