I wonder if ready battery packs pose risk of scam like single cells?

Hello

AE and Alibaba is full of ready-to-go battery packs, power wall clones and so on. I wonder if buying these poses similar risk as buying single LFP cells? Any experience on these packs? Lot of people got scammed buying LFPs, getting bloated or damaged batteries (or not getting anything at all). Hey why we do not buy these battery packs, imo it should be harder to get scammed as one is expecting a ready-to-go product, plug it in and it should have the advertised capacity. Do they build the packs also from scam battery cells maybe? LOL!

I saw a picture on here somewhere with a tear down of a pre-built battery. It was supposed to be 200+ ah but had 4 -100ah sells with pieces of slate to add weight to make up the weight difference.

For people who know nothing about lifepo4 batteries, they should stick with the battle born or other name brand builds.

At least when buying cells, you can see clearly what you get.
In those ready made ones, it's more of a "mistery box". They can easily put grade B or C cells, and you wouldn't know...

Having said that, I recently order 2 of those 12v ready mades, one is a 20Ah, the other 45Ah "automotive". Each one from a different seller, that seems reputable.
The smaller one actually started shipping, but it may take a month or two untill it arrives with all the recent delays.

Of course I will do proper capacity tests for both. If they will be easy to open, I will be snooping in them to see what they got and how they are made.
Both were on the cheap side, so in the worst case I will get less capacity than advertised but I guess they will still be a good deal.
My use isn't very demanding so I can allow myself to settle for less.
Of course when I receive them, I will post my reviews here in the forum.
