Our NEW GO-TO LiFePO4 vendor...09.20.21

No. According to Daisy Efest on 5 November:
thanks Mike,

i think its pointless for me. I'm looking at an RV, I will never hit these cycle counts. will prolly run 95-5 to be honest. even if i get 500 cycle It will prolly take me years.

Jenny is talking to me in PM now, thanks everyone

I'm with you. I'll sell this RV and move to a new one a decade or two before the batteries reach end-of-life.

Just a brief update. I bought 32 of the Eve 304 ah cells a few weeks ago and finally got them built up and hooked into my system

When delivered, they were within 2 millivolts of each other, so I figured I'd just try charging them as a bank and see what happened, I could always top balance individual cells if needed. After charging to 3.4 volts per cell, or 27.2 volts for each 600 amp hour battery, they're still within 2 millivolts of each other, I thought that was pretty darned impressive and shows the quality of these cells.

seems these were pretty well balanced, however 3.4 is still the flat part of the curve..
you could test (with a bms !) going up to 3.5 and seevif they are still this balanced..
if they are, i would be well impressed

According to the charts I've seen, 3.4v is about 99 percent of capacity, I don't see any reason to go higher than that and will normally try to aim for 3.35 or so. With 1200 amp hours there's no need ot push every last watt out of them.

That is my plan as well. I would rather add more cells, then milk every ah out of each one.

im not saying you should set 3.5 as you standard max voltage, but to check that once as a test.
this will tell you the balance of your pack, which, with so normal degradation will get a bit worse

Some conflict advice from other thread about what Doncan Tech sells. Notes: Doncan is on my good list sellers.
Post #13:
"DoocanTech / Lithicore = Liar, USA warehouse even selling cells as old as 2019 as NEW, they don't' even have LF280 on them!"

I believe that guy is just trying to make them look bad because they are cutting into his battery sales.

If he has a legitimate issue, I'm sure that quite a few people here would love to hear the details. Without details, it's not even an anecdote.
edit: But let's give him time to say what he has to say. I'm honestly all ears.

I wonder if these are even the same company? I have seen it spelled at least three different ways in these posts. I really find the 2019 as new comment interesting. If the cell is new, it is new. Do we have an age limit on items on when they become not new? If you buy a 2019 car new from the dealer, it is a new car. I think most companies define new as not sold to an end user or installed/used yet.

It seems there is some misspelling going on, as this company has been referred to as Docan, Doocan, and often Doncan. I am pretty sure that we're talking about the same entity though; they share an address with Lithicore in Houston, Texas.

As far as the new vs old, it is believed that these cells undergo some type of aging over time, even while unused. So while a new-old-stock cell may be "new" in one sense, it isn't "new" in another sense. The difference being that between 'used' and 'aged' (I have no idea how meaningful or not the aging of an unused 2 year old cell may be, I just mean to hopefully add a little clarity to the conversation here)

If I understand correctly, Alkaline's complaint is that they were promised recent batch/2021 manufactured LF280, but instead they received old stock that are (possibly?) not LF280 cells? If he asked for "new" cells and received unused (ie "new") cells, then that sounds like more of a miscommunication than anything. When I ordered from them, I specifically asked if the cells were new, unused, and what the manufacturing/batch date was. And I received what they promised.

I hope Amy and Jenny read this thread.
Doncan has nothing to do with Lithicore. I do not see why you lump them together. Did you do any research? What s the email address you used to communicate with them? Invoice?
Read the thread below: I asked her (Heather Lithicore) if she is affiliated with Docan.
"No we are not affiliated with that warehouse. Our office is directly connected to a warehouse."

They are not even the same company! He needs to make the correction. If I am DOCAN I will be mad.

Long time lurker, first time poster. If not for this thread, I don't believe I would have bought cells this year. But with reviews of Docan and availability of cells, well, strike while the iron is hot.

I contacted Jenny Wu directly via email and quickly got a response with what cells were available, and when. She was very responsive to questions. I decided on 8x EVE LF280K. Jenny reassured these are matched, grade A, new cells, with welded studs and bus bars. 5% paypal fee as expected. I didn't try to negotiate. Assuming the cells are good, I'm happy with the price. My only regret is not buying 16!

I know this review doesn't have a lot of value, just another anecdote. I WILL report on the quality of cells I receive (etd december 10). Thank you to all who contributed to this thread.

Thanks. I love this stuff. Makes me want to buy more even though I don’t need them.

So how much does it come out to be on the total price? Thanks.
