I am looking at Will's "400 Watt Solar Package W/ Alternator Charging" blueprint. Can an Inverter/charger be substituted in place of the inverter. Does this require additional cutoff switches? Will this damage the charge controller?

Unless you have a compelling reason I would not install a cut off switch to the inverter.
The solar controller will be fine.

Thank you for the quick response. Just to clarify, the inverter/charger can be substituted without any changes to the blueprint (except for maybe wire sizes). Thanks again.

Yes. The inverter/charger will fit in fine. However, the Renogy device has some limitations. That and their quality and customer service make it so that I wouldn't recommend that device to anyone that I actually liked. There are numerous threads on the forum that cover the limitations.

Thank you very much. I'll research the other choices on charge controller.
Hello, I’m new to this as well. I’m looking for both a 60a or higher 12v charger and a good inverter. I ended up at the Inverter Store and it looks like some good inverter/chargers. Again, I don’t know much at all, just sharing what I’m looking at.
