Our NEW GO-TO LiFePO4 vendor...09.20.21

I'm kind of shocked. Ordered 16S Docan Tech EV LF280K 6000 cycles lifepo4 3.2V 280Ah 4 days ago and got them today.
They were in stock at the Houston warehouse. I live near Nashville TN.
Excellent! Which terminals did you get? A pic if not too much trouble.

They look ok to me. Am I missing something ?
It looks like the newest stock has a different type of screw-in stud and a Docan sticker on the side.
Pictures in this post: #385

My cells look like yours and have been working perfectly. That's all I need!

New Version EVE LF280K and EVE LF230 arrived at Houston warehouse already. See as below pictures. CALB 100Ah arrived too. And EVE LF280N still in stock. Welcome to contact me if any questions or inquiries.

These are not very good terminals as they do not provide enough contact surface for bus bars or 1/0 to 4/0 wire terminals

Any wire size terminal with the proper hole size will have the same contact size. Same with busbars.

I find it hard to believe that the manufacturers haven’t considered this since virtually all of these cells are used with busbars to build a battery and millions of them are likely in service already.

I get someone’s preference for a different terminal but I don’t think it’s correct to state that they don’t have enough contact surface. Especially given the low C rates most of us use.

I went with the older LF280N because of the larger terminal surface, but I will be pulling up to 200amps per battery with my 12 volt system.

Shouldn’t it be Noah’s arc?
This one went nearly over (or under ;)) my head..
PS-I search Noah an and nothing comes up. I see the link and have it open but not searchable. Probably operator error,.
It appears the forum search is won't register partial words. Search 'noah' and nothing, but search 'noah's' (titles only) and you will find it. (Also its a stickied post in the DIY LiFePO4 battery banks subforum.)

Received 16 LF280K yesterday from UPS. Originally ordered through @Jenny Wu on 12 Dec and knew they where still not in stock at the Houston warehouse at the time of order. I ordered utilizing direct contact through Gmail. During the process I asked multiple questions (40 different emails) and she was always extremely responsive. I have zero experience with these types of cells and as such cant really grade them.

I have not had time to test but none of the cells are bloated and all appear brand new. The voltage on all of the cells are exactly the same at 3.28v. All of the QR codes appear to be intact and not tampered with. There blue plastic coating is in pristine condition with no holes, scratches ect.

Regarding the QR codes many of the cells seem to be from the same series/manufactured on the same day. Here is the manufacture date/series list from the cells I received. Each row constitutes a single box of shipped cells. Looks like most of these where manufactured on 2 Apr with a few outliers.

I payed $147 per cell shipped.

There are UL, CSA and Mil specs for terminals to maintain minimum milivolt drop at the connection.

The 280 terminals look to only be 3/8" (10-11mm) diameter and they are aluminum.

A 1ga (50mm) lug for a 6mm stud is 19mm (3/4" wide). That's OK but move up 2/0 (70mm) and now the contact surface is 1/2 of the lug.

At 4/0 (120mm) which is used for 12V - 3000W invterters and the contract area is 1/3 of the lug.

Sorry to be lazy. I don’t have an hour for the vid right now. Can you give me the bottom line on these terminals? Good to go? Thanks!

The benefits of reliability and a better torqued connection with the welded stud, outweighs the larger surface area of the drilled and tapped hole.

I half assed my cells together yesterday. 7 out of 8 where at 3.31v, the last one was at 3.32v. I run my other packs 24-26.7v (rarely below 26v), so I added them on for now. I will redo the wiring later (might retire the BYDs).IMG_1235a.jpg

On a slightly hilarious note (after the fact), when I hooked them up, my LV2424 started beeping. Just a little at first, and then a lot. I checked everything and couldn't figure out what it was. I finally realized that it was actually my volt meter telling me that I had left it on (idle) for too long and it was auto shutting off... At some point I probably should have remembered that the audio feature is turned off on my inverter. :p

Thank you @ghostwriter66 for sharing this supplier.
Ordered 16 EVE 160's 10/21 There was no stock in Houston so had to be shipped from China. Fedex shipper printed 10/26. Tracking went live 12/24 when Fedex picked up from customs. 10 scans later, they were delivered today 1/2.
Boxes in good condition, completely wrapped in cellophane tape. Cells fully entombed in foam. No marks or smudges on terminals or blue wrap. No detectable deformation of the underlying aluminum case.
All cells 3.293/4. First 4 are on the charger with a Daly going to 3.4 volts. I'll charge the others the same and then parallel to top balance.
These will join 16s Lishen 150's from the group buy.

Communication from @Amy Zheng at Docan was perfect. I'll be back...
Thank you.

My 4 LF230’s arrived today. Beautiful, good packing no damage, read the QR codes they were all made within a few days of each other in june last year, all measure 3.290V.

Only problem is one terminal is missing its threads. :(

Someone posted a link for post adapters to M10 and those will work nicely.

Waiting to hear if I should try tapping threads or return the one.
