Magnum 4024 inverter with my DIY EVE 280AH 8s battery 200amp BMS. Room maintained at a point just above freezing.

Option 1) Set the battery directly below the inverter. About 4' of cable required. It's convenient for the inverter but not so convenient for the garage space.

Option 2) The battery would be great in the back corner out of the way. This would require about 16' of cable. Closer to the heater

Option 3) The battery could be in the front corner. I did not measure, but probably 8'-10'of cable. Also colder close to overhead door

Opinions?

Battery below inverter.

But the warm back corner is better! Can you not hang the inverter there somewhere?

I put the inverter close to the breaker panel. I probably could move it, but I would have to splice my PV charge wires. I could replace the AC feed wires. It's also pretty tight to get between the heater and the corner.

If it were me I'd put one of my seedling heat mats under the battery. They put out about 15 watts of mild, diffuse heat so they use hardly any power and would keep the battery nice and comfortable. Then put the battery as close as possible to the inverter. The mats are about $15-20 anywhere. I use tons of them for my gardens. The small ones are 10" x 20".

I insulated my garage and garage door years ago. It doesn't go below 45° F in there, depending on where the thermometer is placed. It's an attached garage.

I've had very good results with placing battery warming pads on my cells and then insulating around that. The amp draw is fairly small even when the temperatures in the trailer (at the storage lot) get to 0° F.
