Only places like NY and Chicago require conduit. Lots of places allow extension cords (Romex) to be used.Is that even to code? Where is the conduit?
I would have specified recessed mount and hide the wires. That work of art would bother me.
When I was in the apprenticeship, I was (jokingly) taught early on that electricians have an easy job...just make fancy extension cords and plug strips....Only places like NY and Chicago require conduit. Lots of places allow extension cords (Romex) to be used.

Yes. It is a a.o. Smith hybrid. I picked it up used from Facebook $450. I only run it and efficiency mode (heat pump only). Works great. It was throwing a code but still heats perfectly. I called aosmith they sent me a new motherboard and two sensors. I replaced them and it's still threw the error code. They ended up telling me to go down to the supply house and pick up another one. Supplyhouse only needed tag off the water heater. I ended up bringing them the tag they loaded me up with a brand new one. Meanwhile my old one is still beating away. I have the brand new one for backup. these run $2,000Is that one of them thar newfangled water heaters?
