ENJ Power for Heltec/JK BMS

Hmm I must've got a very strange version then? 3 pins on the CAN/RS485 port. measures exactly 3mm apart (so 1mm pitch), and it's a JST GH style socket which is typically only available in 1.25mm pitch.

I agree with @Steve_S here - would you guys be able to provide some "pigtails" for these special plugs? For instance, my version has the K+/- line to activate BMS, yet I dont have a display screen (was never sent one, nor told the option I should buy one). If I had a pigtail I can at least create a momentary switch to enable BMS. Without it, I had to find a very small metal tweezer to short pins K+/- without touching any other pins. It's obviously not ideal to work with. So if pigtails are available, I'd like to order some!

EDIT: lol like literally 1 second after i posted reply I realised my idiocy!.. 3 pins is 2 pitches apart... so 1.25mm does sound about right cos that could be exactly 2.5mm distance between the 3 pins (call it parallax error since im hovering the verniers above the connector). Confirmed on the 6 pin plug too since that's 6.25mm between the 6 pins (so 5x1.25) ... In that case I'll try some JST 1.25mm connectors and see if that works.

You could open the thing up desolder the header and just solder a normal JST pigtail to the board. NO? You may also find label for pinout too..

I thought I saw somewhere that the GPS 4 pin plug is RS485 #1 though, even on that newer model?

Didn't want to risk losing warranty by breaking the seal to open them up. Already had to send one back for warranty repair/replacement. Besides, if I take it apart and start hacking the connectors etc, that isn't necessarily gonna help the next person who's not comfortable doing that, so ideally I want to stay within the plug-n-play realms of "what would the next average DIY-friendly guy do"

Idk, Nothing says DIY on electrical like knowing how to solder!
I’m a get shit done, think outside the box type of person. With a tiny bit of solder and 15 mins I could have had a nice plug and play setup right down to color matching wires.
IDK?!? Seems pretty straight forward and easy to me. But who am I to say…
Best of luck to you and your projects!

LOL yeh I can solder and so can most others, that's the easy part. What I meant was, not everyone's gonna be comfortable taking apart a brand new BMS that ain't broken. so if we can get a plug-n-play solution, that makes the solution far more repeatable and supportable for ourselves and others in the future. The connectors are a standard type, just gotta find the right ones and create a pigtail for it. That also makes it easier to disconnect if you need to service your setup.

Hi,

I use this setup to access two JK BMS 2A:
I have a mini PC in the garage (Beelink Mini-S) where I run all my solar apps (inverter; solara charger, ... over RS484 USB adapter under windows 10).
I use the google chrome remote desktop (free) to see it remotely on my close PC (old minix NEO Z83-4 with Windows 10).
I have attached a Samsung table with a USB cable to the garage desktop and bought (28 euro with coupon code) the Apowermirror software.
I run the JK BMS application v4.8.1 on the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 SM-T500 Android v12 and both JK BMS are connected via Bluetooth to the Samsung Galaxy Tab (make sure you let the precise location on, otherwhise it does not starts the JK BMS app ENJPOWER)

That works great so far.
