Diminishing Returns of Lead Acid

Diminishing Returns of Lead Acid

I have found that the life span of a LFB is directly related to maintenance and watering..I am on my 6th year of a 8 battery Trojans T-105 24 volt setup with 4000 watt LF inverter (weights a ton)... full time living off grid run my A/C, residential fridge and stand alone 8 CF freezer 40 inch tv, large outside compressor et etc etc with no problems BUT I am religious as to water levels and check them every 2 weeks which is a pain as well as having to clean the corrosion on battery cable ends every so often...Lithium are far easier to take care of but to get my 464 USEABLE amp hours it would cost me a minimum of $1600 in Lithium. I paid 600 for 6 of mine and got given the other 4 when someone went to Lithium 3 years ago so..total cost is $600 to me..I figure costs are coming down and batteries are better all the time solid state etc etc so If I can hold on another year or two
A failure to understand Peukert's Law. It has nothing to do with degraded performance due to age or cycles. It is only concerned with "effective" capacity depending on discharge rate (the higher the rate of discharge, the lower the effective capacity)
