I stripped out the M6 threads in the terminal hole of an Aluminum Case LiFePO4 Cell.
This deck shows what I did to drill out the hole and tap for an M8 hole.

Revision 2: Added slide about using studs vs using bolts or screws.

Note: I am *not* a machinist but I have tinkered with metalwork. This is what I did but a machinist might have a better way.

Suggestions, comments & improvements are welcome.

Thanks for the writeup!! I stripped two of my M6 terminals even having only used studs in them ever. Would you recommend just drilling all the terminals in the battery and upgrading them or only fix the holes that are bad?
Informative and complete.
That conductive epoxy is an absolute find. Really wished i had known about this sooner.
My new 105AH cells came with M4 bolts, scary!. I bought m4 threaded rod, made studs and used atom adhesives 2 part 1:1 silver epoxy (very low resistance but pricey), so far so good. If I do wind up stripping threads I will remember your tricks with the drill bit and tap mods, very instructive.
Especially like your extra - gluing in studs with conductive epoxy. Thank you!
Very Good
Your giving away all the little secrets. :)
