A lot of good info on the BMS, but wish much more was covered about app settings.
Between this Overkill BMS manual and my battery cell data sheet, I wish more data was given for the BMS manual recommended app programming. An example is the self discharge of the lithium battery is 3% per month, but the app only lists self discharge%. Without a label in the app, I don’t know if the app want this discharge % in day/month/year. Also, the apps standard settings were not given in the manual, or on the free download, so that leaves a lot for those of us wanting to know the settings beforehand.
1. Pretty Simple, FET based
2. Good US based seller and support
3. Good, intelligible manual
4. All the essentials: Over/Under Voltage, Over current, Low Temp
5. Bluetooth
6. A BMS I think you personally have a good amount of history with (at least as far back as the 'Battery Hookup BMS')
7. Good amount of 'mindshare' / community adoption
8. Not too expensive
Main shortcomings I can think of are limited max current for 12v systems and no 48v option.
