I was being facetious. It shouldn't.

Yup! With a hot water butt sprayer top. Don't like pooping in holes.

Hit mine with zep degreaser, pressure wash then phosphate. It will probably peel.

    PV monitoring

Isn't this the disadvantage of something like the Bluetti? You can't upgrade any single component or add more of one component.

Buy another Bluetti for your second set of panels.

One more photo you might enjoy. Wood stove, control panel for solar, winches, inverter etc. This shows how the range hood/microwave vents. The wood burning stove has some 4" ductwork to carry the heat back to the minecraft cave, master bedroom and the opposite direction over to the...

In no particular order. Self explanatory other than there 3 queen beds. One in up the little ladder. Under that one down the hall, there is another the "minecraft" cave and then master bed in the back. Above that first queen bed are two twin beds. All craigslist free or cheap stuff...

    Self sustainable shipping container

Crappy picture. Here is the door end. The water pumps are in the compartment below. The water flows from the tanks barely visible on the right side into a Rusco spin down 100 mesh filter, then into the pumps, then into the lower "big blue" which contains a 5 micron filter, then into the uppper...

It was APL blue and I painted that tan color to blend into it's environment better. Its also in a highly corrossive environment so I wanted to get another coating on there. Here it is at my house before pressure washing and then painting it. Metal shutters close and lock over all the windows...

    Self sustainable shipping container

Rainwater is easy. Gotta factor in power consumption of the UV bulb though. It has no odor, no minerals, no chlorine, no nothing. It tastes good and doesn't leave spots.

    Self sustainable shipping container

What do you mean? Do you deal with containers often? Built anything out of one?
  13. C

    Self sustainable shipping container

You're making the right choice. Doing anything beyond a single shipping container build makes absolutely no sense. Unless it's just strictly for the love of containers and an artistic/architectural statement, you gain nothing using them in that manner

    Self sustainable shipping container

Its fine. As I am sure you know, you don't want to support it in the middle, just keep the support towards the ends so it lays naturally. On a 45', I would support it at the 40' castings. Make sure and keep the entire container at least 6" off the ground. You're well beyond that obviously...

    Self sustainable shipping container

45' container builds are a rarity. You're in for a rude awakening if you need to move it once full of all the goodies you're going to put in it.

I have a container that self-sustains I guess. 9 275 watt panels. 3S3P. (one is flat on the other part of the roof). 3 240 AMP hour 8D in parralell at 12 volts. 80 amp charger, RV transfer switch and 3000 watt AIMS inverter and 100 AMP epever MPPT. 3000 watt Yamaha 3000 ISEB hooked to a 120...

12v DC options for shower exhaust fan, timer and light?

How about an RV bathroom vent and fan and ordinary household timer (spring type)? If not, just use a large diameter computer cooling fan. Those are efficient and quiet.

Heat tiny home with mini split year round in cloudy oregon?

Just use grid power then. Or can you not hook up to it cuz code? Edit: my bad. Simultaneously posted this when you made the post above answering the question

    Average Consumption?

Yes. Flourescent tubes have to heat up before they give full output.

    Average Consumption?

Don't get me wrong, I filter to .5 microns then run it through a 3 foot long uv sterilizer. After reading the Australian study, I lost all fear of a possible filter failure or bulb outage leading to a case of the runs or blindness.

    Average Consumption?

Ironic. 😆 Wrong thread but rainwater off a roof is pretty much safe as it is. See studies done in rural Australia.

Heat tiny home with mini split year round in cloudy oregon?

My AIMS 3kw draws like 12 watts @ idle. This is where you need to get fancy. You need to get your fab skills up and going so you can recover heat from your generator and use that to heat the house while you're using it to charge the batteries. With a mini split heat pump, you could start by...
  25. C

    Average Consumption?

You can put a flow switch on your uv light so it only comes on when you turn a faucet on. That would cut your draw by 2.4kwh per day assuming 100 watt bulb.

Heat tiny home with mini split year round in cloudy oregon?

It's math. Expect failure and enjoy the journey. What are your panels currently producing? The other factor isn't so much the clouds but the length the winter days. You're asking for 16 hours worth of reserve to be replenished in 8 hours. Panels are cheap. I do ok with clouds in wa state but...

    Propane fueled Generators

The problem is the low quality of the equipment, not the fuel you are using. Run full synthetic oil and at full load for best results.

    Another auto gen start question

Plus 12v to com terminal on inverter/charger. Wire from no on i/c to plus terminal on timer. Negative from 12v source to minus terminal on relay. The no from relay to one wire on gen and com from the relay to the other.

    Another auto gen start question

You could but probably the same issue.
  31. C

    Another auto gen start question

Yes. A cheap momentary timer that closes the contacts for a 1/2 second once it receives or looses power would work. This would go between your inverter and gen. When the inverter contacts close, the timer contacts would close for a split second then open. When they opened it would do the same.
  32. C

    Another auto gen start question

Ok. So if you intercept the switch, you'll need some way to make the signal momentary. This all depends on how the ags function works on your inverter though.
  33. C

    Another auto gen start question

So your generator has auto choke and Well, such as the model of generator you have. Without knowing that, you leave it up to us to guess if the generator has some way to auto choke, crank and start with some way to deactivate the starter motor and then some way to turn itself off all by...
  34. C

    Another auto gen start question

Too much missing here. What do you mean by start module? If you merely short the wires together, it's the same thing as holding the key in the start position even after the generator is running.
